I was out the back at the café cleaning up, on duty with Marvin.
AKA, supreme asshole and my boss.
He kinda wanted to keep an eye on me to make sure I was never, ever late again or skipped work like I did two days ago.
"Koti, there's a customer." He yelled out to me. I rolled my eyes and dumped the broom in a corner before heading over to the counter.
"Ello Governor, how may I help you?" I asked the person.
"I was under the impression I was in Australia, but thanks. I'd like a medium latte." I looked up and immediately put a face to the voice. It was Maxi.
"MAXI!" I yelled. He laughed.
"KOTI!" He yelled back. I giggled.
"That'll be $2.50." Maxi handed me the money and I went to make the latte. He followed me around.
"So, you never answered our question the other day." He said casually. I grinned and began to heat up the milk.
"What? You wanna know if I'm superman? Or batman?" I asked back. Maxi rolled his eyes and I smirked.
"Only you, Koti. You are the weirdest and funniest person I have ever met." Maxi chuckled. I grinned a pedo smile.
"Well, they love me." I said adding coffee into the drink. "What was the question?" I asked.
"What's your last name?" he asked. Now I remember why I didn't answer it. I gulped, and placed the latte into a takeaway cup and handed it to Maxi.
"I don't want to tell you." I said. Maxi looked surprised.
"Why?" he inquired. I shrugged.
"I don't really share it with anybody." I whispered. I looked at the clock and took off my apron.
"Marvin, I'm leaving!" I yelled. Then I grabbed Maxi's hand and pulled him out of the café. We ran up the street until we couldn't hear Marvin yelling at me anymore and settled down at a little park five blocks from Bondi. I sat down and sung my legs, letting the sun soak my face. Maxi drank some of his coffee and then cleared his throat.
"So, why don't you share your last name with anybody?" He asked a bit hesitantly. I sighed.
"I don't want people to judge me for it. When they did know it, that's all they knew. They never recognised me for me." I replied.
"So, you're ashamed? Is somebody in your family a criminal?" Maxi continued to ask.
"Well, no. Quite the opposite actually. They're really famous." I added. I didn't want to talk about this at all, but I trusted Maxi already.
"Could you tell me?" He asked. I shook my head.
"I need to get to know you first. I need to know that I can trust you, and that you like me for me- not just because of who my relations are." I explained. Maxi smiled.
"I hope that's soon Koti. Because I really like you- as a friend I mean." He whispered. I grinned.
"Me too Maxi. Now, I have to go- I promised Lilli I would have dinner with her and Dean." I gave my farewells to Maxi and wandered back to my apartment. Should I start being more open about my identity? I thought about what Louis said the other day.
Call me soon. I miss you.
Did he really? I stopped outside my apartment and pulled out my phone. I went into my call history and hoped that his number had been on private, but it wasn't. He knew I would call him back. My finger hovered over the number and I clicked on it. The phone rang and rang. I was beginning to think he wasn't going to pick up, when he did.
"Hello?"
Except it wasn't his voice.
"Err, hi, is Louis there?" I asked shyly.
Whoa- Koti is not shy!
"Yeh, but he's in the studio recording. Who is this?" The voice said. I grinned to myself.
"I might just have to ask you the same question. Who is this mysterious person picking up Louis's phone?" I retorted cheekily.
"HEY! No fair, I asked first." Fuck.
"This is Koti." I replied.
"This is- HANG ON! DID YOU SAY YOUR NAME WAS KOTI?" The voice yelled suddenly.
"YEP! YOU BET YOUR BRITISH BUTTONS IT IS!" I yelled back. There was a bit of scuffling and then the voice returned.
"Koti- as in Louis's twin sister who ditched her whole family because she hated the attention they got?" The voice asked excitedly.
"That would be me." I grumbled.
"Then you should remember me! Right?"
"Ha-ha, um yeh, but I did ask you who the fuck you where before, so you know. WHO ARE YOU?" I bellowed. I grinned to myself. Oh yeh, I am not afraid of my past life.
"Oh, yeh sorry. It's Harry! Harry Styles! We used to date..."
I fucking hate and never, ever want to fucking hear about my past life again.
Sorry its short. I only need a few more chappies to unravel the mystery about who Koti is, but then we have the process of her opening up to Maxi and the boys about who she really is.
