chapter one

"Run Maya run". Maya ran faster than she did when she won gold at the olympics. All the built up stress and anger at her team for rejecting her as captain fuelled her run with the severed nose. The hospital finally insight. The ER doors being Maya's finish line.

Right as she reached her finish line a woman emerged from the door with one hand holding a lunch box, the other clasped with the hand of a blonde. They came out of no where and Maya crashed into them, her feet unable to stop in time due to the speed in which she was running at. Her grip of the bag with the nose in it becoming loose and landing in the free hand of Dr Arizona Robbins, the blonde.

"Shit sorry" Maya gasped as she tried to get her breathing under control. The two women got a fright because Maya was like the flash. One minute there was on one in sight, the next Maya is right there.

"wow jeez someones in a rush" Arizona laughed as she handed the bag back to Maya who apologised again. "Better get that back to its owner" she laughed again, looking up at her Italian girlfriend who didn't seem to be focused on the situation in front of them.

The whole 10 second exchange between the two blondes had Carina looking with her big brown eyes at the blonde who was not her girlfriend. She was fixated on how Maya's hair was perfectly messy, how the sweat gathering on her head made it shine just enough. How hot her body was with those skin tight leggings and workout top sitting perfectly. Carina was engulfed by this women stood in front of her. Thoughts running wild.

Just as quickly as the interaction started, it had ended and Maya was on her way into the hospital, Carina on her way out to the park to have lunch with her girlfriend before her 18 hour shift. The entire lunch Carina ran the interaction with Maya through her head again and again, picturing her in her workout clothes, gasping for air. It was starting to turn her on. She had to stop. She couldn't be thinking of anyone other than Arizona in that way. But she just couldn't help it. Maya's delicate features would not leave her mind. She needed more. She needed to find this woman.

"Babe you okay? You don't seem with it right now" Arizona looked at her girlfriend concerned.

"Was it the nose?" "I bet it was the nose, it was really disgusting." Carina just nodded along.

"Am I having a conversation with myself here?" Arizona started to get a little frustrated at Carina who was making this interaction really difficult.

"I think im gonna head back to the hospital, im not feeling great." Carina looked at her girlfriend, without looking at her. With every minute she allowed herself to think of Maya, Carina got more and more turned on. Lust filling her body.

"Okay, ill come with!" Arizona said, a smile on her face because Carina wasn't feeling well and thats why she was acting weird. not because someone was distracting her.

"im going to head back myself, I don't want to ruin your lunch" Carina sighed, seeing Maggie and Amelia walking towards them. "Look theres Maggie and Amelia, you can have lunch with them." Before Arizona got a change to respond her girlfriend had stood up and walked away from her and the bench they were sitting on.

"Hey Arizona, what's up with Deluca?" Amelia asked pointing at the Italian who was nearly out of the park entrance.

"She's not feeling well." "I don't wanna talk about it." Arizona's smile was wiped from her face.

Maya paced up and down the ER waiting for her team to rejoin her from the woods. "Hey May- Captain." Jack moved his eyes down to the floor realising his slip up. Ever since Maya became captain the team weren't talking to her because to them Andy should have became captain. All pretty petty in the long scale of things but nevertheless they were doing it. For that reason Jack and Maya had decided to wait to tell everyone they were back together because Jack would have been seen as a traitor. And to be frank, Maya just couldn't be bothered with the extra hate that would come from Andy.

"Did they get the nose in time?" Andy asked.

"Don't know yet, he's still in surgery." Maya stopped pacing the room and stood infront of Gibson, Herrera and Hughes. The tension in the air could be felt by everyone but Maya because her attention was on the brown eyed women she'd bumped into when arriving at the hospital. Despite the drama of Maya's day, dealing with her team, responding to a bear attack, being faced with said bear, then running the length of a marathon in half the time to get someone reunited with their nose, she still could only think about Carina. Curls messy, eyes bright, perky pink scrubs, a smile that could lift up the sky. She could not get the image of the brunette out of her head. And she didn't even know her name.

Just as Maya was thinking about how she was going to see Carina again, she appeared at the entrance of the ER, flustered, eyes darting around the room looking for someone until her eyes landing on Maya and she started to walk over to her.
