Carina walked over to the blonde, pressing a kiss to her cheek, a sign of goodbye, before leaving to get Maya back.
Maya ran to her car, full of adrenaline. She was lucky it was late and there were no police on the streets because she drove way over the speed limit. All she could think of was telling Carina how she felt.
After having an in depth conversation with Andy, depicting her feelings and emotions, all the tingles and weirdness she'd been experiencing ever since that first day outside the hospital where she bumped into Carina with the nose, she now understood what it all meant. It made sense to her now. Having someone like Andy that understands love, telling her she was in love, put Maya in a whole new perspective. A perspective she was really thankful for.
She pulled her car up to the gates of Carina's apartment complex. Waiting anxiously as they opened. Her legs starting to tremble when she parked the car. Her forehead vein bulging as she thought about their weekend together and how she needed Carina back in her arms.
The fire captain had never been to Carina's apartment before but she knew what number she lived at because they had previously talked about it.
As she waited on the elevator to open she started to think about what she would say to Carina. How she'd apologise for being ignorant and rude. How she had figured out her feelings and was ready for a relationship. Maya thought of all the things.
When she waited for the elevator to stop on Carina's floor doubt kicked in a little. What if Carina is still unwilling to leave Arizona? What if she doesn't feel that same way? As the doors opened, Maya hesitated slightly. Until she'd remembered the moment they shared earlier at dinner, Maya being the only person Carina had ever told her moms recipe too. As soon as she remembered, all the doubt left the air and she walked confidently down the hall to number 305.
As soon as Maya found Carina's apartment she knocked on the door, pacing back and forward, waiting to see Carina's face appear at the door.
"Hi, Maya"
"Arizona?"

Carina ran to her car, stalling it twice because she was so full of emotions, unable to think clearly never mind drive to a good standard.
She waited for her gate to open and sped down the road to see Maya. As she turned the corner to Maya's apartment complex, the radio started playing 'At Last' by Etta James. Making Carina well up, remembering their weekend together. Reminding her of the woman she'd fell head over heels for. The woman she wanted to make her girlfriend.
Carina parked the car, jumping out and making her way up the stairs to Maya's apartment. She'd prepared her speech in the car, running it through her head again as she walked down the hall to Maya's front door. Not even knocking, the Italian walked straight in. Surprised at who was in front of her.
"Save your big 'I love you' speech she just left" Andy said as she looked up from the television, popcorn in hand.
"What?" Carina was out of breathe, disappointed that Maya wasn't currently in front of her.
"She's on her way to your house right now" Andy gave more context to the situation.
"She's what?!" Carina's brain was still too fogged with thought to be completely in the conversation with Andy right now.
"She just left to go find you" Andy laughing slightly at Carina's confused face.
"Look, just go home and I'm sure your find her there"
"Okay, I'm gonna go" Carina pointed at the door and began to leave just as Andy shouted her back.
"Don't hurt her please, she's been through enough already" Andy smiled softly at the brunette.
