"Oh fuck" Maya smirked. 

Carina was planning a romantic date for Maya in coordination with Andy and Vic - as working around Maya's new hours had became a pretty tough job. In the past three weeks, Maya had been throwing herself into work, finding a new love for firefighting. A deeper passion than she'd felt before. A lot of the drive she had early on in her career was proving to her father she was the best. But ever since she'd returned after the accident, after starting therapy with Dr. Wyatt, Maya had found that her real love for firefighting was about the rush of adrenaline she got being in control of an element most of the world viewed as out of control. She loved getting onto a scene and seeing the beauty of a raging neon orange and yellow fire. The feeling of accomplish deep in her chest when she rescued another human being. She fucking loved her job. 

"Right team gather round" Maya shouted loudly with a smile on her face.

Dean, Travis, Ben and a few others popped out from behind the firetrucks they were cleaning, Vic and Andy coming from the reception- Vic hanging up her phone as Andy opened the door for them. 

"What did she say there? I only caught rage room and dinner at that Mexican place Bishop likes since you gasped at the end" Andy spoke low, side eyeing Vic as they approached the team- and their captain. 

"Miss Deluca said she was surprising Maya with a trip to Italy" Vic gushed, catching her bosses attention.

Maya so badly wanted to know what her best friends were giggling about but she had to be in captain mode, unfortunately for her she'd have to wait 5 more minutes before finding out the gossip. "I was on the phone to Station 23's Captain earlier and he heard chat of pop up inspections from Chief Ripley this week..." Everyone huffed except for Hughes who blushed at the mention of Lucas Ripley's name. "...sooo I need everyone on their best behaviour, and I need absolutely every inch of this place cleaned by the end of shift" A second round of sighs came, Vic included this time. "Sorry guys, I have to be mean sometimes" Maya laughed and dismissed everyone.

Walking over to Vic and Andy, "What's the gossip girlies?" The blonde asked.

Vic looked at Andy who looked at Vic unsure of what to say, Vic taking yet another one for the team, "I was telling Andy how I had a sex dream about Ripley the other night" Maya gasped and Andy choked on her breathe completely shocked at the excuse Hughes had came up with but knowing that it was probably true.

"Wow. I was not expecting that" Maya rubbed her forehead and laughed. "Good for you Hughes...but don't even think about it. I already have to deal with Andy going between Sullivan and Ryan, I cannot do you and my boss."

"Hmmm" Hughes backed up, teasing her friends with no more details about her dream and walked away.

"Where do you think you're going?" Maya asked.

"To organise hoses like you asked, right Andy?" Insinuating that Andy follow her to finish their private discussion.

"Yup...yep exactly" Herrera came out her dream about Vic and Ripley and followed Vic.

Maya stood helpless and laughing as they both walked away.

"I'm phoning Carina back" Vic said as Andy prepared to start their actual job.

"Vic hi what happened there?" Carina chuffed a laugh as she walked the halls of the hospital, about to get to the break room, a lovely homemade carbonara in the fridge with her name on it.

"Sorry your girlfriend needed us" Andy made a face telling Hughes to hurry up and get back to business.

"okay okay, as I was saying, Maya has been wanting to go to a place she can smash things up because her therapist had recommended it for her to let her emotions out, since as you know talking about feelings isn't her strongest trait."
