Walking on the footpath surrounding the park with your earphones plugged in, you saw a small girl standing alone. No one was around her but she held a soft toy in her hands. You paused the song and walked closer to her, kneeling down to her level.
"Hi," you greeted her happily. "Are you alone?"
She looked at you with her soft but slightly teary eyes before looking away and slightly shaking her head as a no. You pout seeing her like this. "Did you come here with your mother?" You asked softly, not wanting to sound like a creep.
The kid contemplated before shaking her head no. You frown before speaking yet softly, "do you not talk?"
"My brother told me to not talk to strangers," she spoke in her tiny voice. She's so goddamn cute, you smiled.
"Can I be your friend then?"
The kid turned around to face you before wrapping her tiny arms around your neck. Your aura made her comfortable around you. You let out a giggle at her actions before engulfing her into a warm hug. "So is that a yes?"
She pulled away and nodded happily, making you grin at her lovable actions.
"What's your na一"
"Areum? I told you not to一 y/n?"
You looked at him the moment he spoke the kid's name. You didn't know much about him, just his name. You two were classmates but never talked. He was cold and quite unapproachable.
"I'm sorry一 I saw her alone so I approached her and she didn't talk to me at first so please don't scold her." You rushed out.
He chuckled. He fucking chuckled. This was the first time you saw him smiling or laughing. It made you smile internally at how adorable he looked.
"Relax. It's okay 'cause I know you." He smiled, yet again. Just ndkskddkdjsk, your mind was dazed by his smile.
"You should smile more, you know? You look cute一"
You felt a tug on your shirt, grabbing your attention. "Let's go there!" Areum pointed to the swings and held your hand.
Jungkook smiled at you both, glad that you and his sister bonded, before following you. He saw Areum petting a puppy sitting inside a box while you stood beside her, smiling.
"Aww," Areum dragged out the word as she saw how the puppy closed his eyes under her touch. "It's so cute."
You melted at the spot. God, she's so precious! Your mind spoke. Her voice could literally cure anything.
"Sure it can." You slightly flinched at the sudden voice before realization hit you. Did he just read my mind or did I think out loud?
"Can we take it home?" Areum pouted to him.
"Areum," he trailed off, "you know that mom doesn't like having pets, right?"
"But this one is so cute. Please, please, please一"
"I'll take it home and you can come visit us, is that good?"
"Yay!" Areum quickly hugged your legs as she was small. You ruffled her hair and bent down picking up the clean, golden-fur puppy.
"I can come too, right?" He asked you, taking a small glance at the puppy before looking back at you.
You smiled at him, "of course. Areum wouldn't come alone now, would she?" You giggled.
His heart fluttered hearing you. He chuckled too, "true but maybe you can come to visit me..."
You blush at his invitation and look down at the puppy who was peacefully sleeping in your arms. Your heart was pounding in your chest.
Jungkook looked at you blushing and smiled, looking where his sister was before looking back at you.
"You're so adorable.Wish I could take you home and keep you forever."
