Embrace Femininity

Youtube Video Transcript:

By now you've probably seen Dallas Delaney's video promoting her new feminist movement, #GirlsShitToo. And if you think like me, you probably realize this is not the sort of feminism we want gaining popularity.

I understand how it's problematic that girls are sometimes regarded as dolls that don't abide by the laws of nature and reality. While there probably are men who don't and won't accept that women have biological needs, these men are probably very few and far between.

Society also doesn't like to talk openly about how girls bleed out of their vaginas each month, and apparently Dallas doesn't either, because that is something that differentiates women from men. Dallas wants us to think we're all the same.

But women are different. We are feminine.

And the way for us to be equal is for femininity to be valued as much as masculinity is.

Feminists like Dallas think that sex equality can be gained by throwing away all that we have come to think of as being feminine and by instead acting just like our male counterparts, the ones who have been oppressing us for years. She's one of those feminists who thinks it's some huge victory for the female lead in a movie or show to be in combat mode. Brienne of Tarth should not be a pillar of feminism, girls!

What is it that makes girls like Dallas hate femininity? What's wrong with coloring our nails and being creative? What's wrong with discussing our broken hearts, with being emotional, with crying when that guy who we thought liked us doesn't text us back? What's wrong with embracing our sexuality by wearing dresses? Why can't feminine women be our heroes?

I think what Dallas has is not a wonderful desire to help women, but rather a misdirected and massive case of PENIS ENVY.

Yeah, I'll admit it: girls number two. But we have the decency to keep it to ourselves. We also have the decency to keep our potty mouths shut, too, or to keep the potty out of our mouths completely. Maybe this is an aspect of femininity that males and females like Dallas should think about adopting: decency. Being considerate of those around you and not talking about private things, not cussing, not being gross.

I hope you'll join me, Adree Richards, in my countermovement: #EmbraceFemininity, a movement not just for women, but for men as well...because men, let's face it, there are some aspects of femininity that you should probably adopt.
