"Thanks for coming with me Alexis. If I bring a friend and say I have plans then my mom won't make me stick around and help for too long."

Alexis laughed at Scott as he led her into a small, local community theater after work on Friday night. "This place is cute. I had no idea it was here."

"Thanks. I spend a lot of time here."

They both turn to see an older woman walking up to them and Scott motioned to her.

"This is my mom, Lisa. This is my friend Alexis."

Alexis smiled and nodded as she shook Lisa's hand, "it's nice to meet you." As she walked away, Scott turned to her.

"I'll be right back, need to talk to her about something."

Alexis nodded, "sure. I'll wander around."

Scott pulled his mom to the side, "have you heard from Chris? Rachel said he's acting kind of weird. He's supposed to come in tonight, right?"

Lisa nodded, "yeah. He said we won't see him until sometime tomorrow afternoon. He said he has something to do in the morning."

Scott crossed his arms, "what is he doing?"

She shrugged, "I have no idea Scott. You boys are adults. I'm not your keeper anymore. That's what spouses are for. Perhaps you should both look into that." She laughed as he rolled his eyes. "Maybe you should stay out of your brother's business. You're far too nosy Scott." She motioned to Alexis, "she's pretty. Does she know Chris?"

He scoffed, "I'm not nosy enough. And no. She doesn't appear to know who I am." He looked back at her, "she is pretty. And really sweet. Too bad Chris is already dating Rachel." He looked back at his mom, "how do we feel about Rachel?"

Lisa shook her head, "come on. You know I'm not going to comment on the people you guys date."

Scott laughed, tilting his head, "mom."

She sighed, shrugging, "she's fine. I guess. If you're asking my honest opinion, I don't think he's in love with her. She's just someone that was there."

Scott nodded, sighing. "Same. I should get back to Alexis." He saw Lisa nod as he walked away from her to find Alexis.

Alexis wandered around, finding some pictures of what looked to be a young Chris, "so cute."

Scott laughed, "yeah." He pointed to the picture, pointing out himself.

"So you knew him?"

Scott laughed, hesitating, surprise that she really had no idea who he was. "Um. You could say that."

She nodded, "that's cool. Did you finish gossiping with your mom?"

"How do you know we were gossiping?"

She shrugged, "I don't know. Just the way you were huddled together."

Scott laughed, "well maybe. We were gossiping about my brother."

She nodded, "ah. Well this place is great Scott. I guess you spent a lot of time here as a kid?"

"I did. You know, my birthday is in a few weeks. You should come. You can meet my brother."

She shrugged again, "sure."

Scott nodded, watching her, "plans tomorrow?"

Alexis felt herself blush, "I sort of have a date in the morning? We'll see." She laughed at his woo-ing.

"A date! He cute?"

She nodded, "oh yeah."
