Alexis groaned, sitting on the plane as she felt Chris reach over to grab her hand. She looked over at him, "do we have to go home?"
He laughed, "we've been gone for 2 weeks love. I have a life to get back to, you have to get back to work. And we have a life to start together."
She sighed, nodding as she felt him kiss herhand, "I know. I love you Chris. Promise me it's going to be okay."
He squeezed her hand, "I love you too. It'll all be okay. I promise. We'll go on another trip as soon as we can too."
She nodded, looking out the window at the clouds. She was nervous about returning home to a normal life. She wasn't sure about how Joseph was going to react and she left everything for Erin and Robert to do. She rested her head on Chris's shoulder as she tried to sleep. She felt him rest his head on hers as she closed her eyes.

It was midday when they returned to Chris's place to find it full of both of their families. "What the heck!" She grunted as Isabella ran up to her.
"Aunt Alexis. Uncle Chris!"
Alexis laughed as Isabella hugged Chris and she saw a congratulations banner above the piano in the living room. She looked at Chris, "did you tell them when we were getting back?"
He shrugged, "maybe. They weren't able to be there for the wedding. I wasn't going to deny them us coming home."
She laughed, going up to Erin and Robert and greeting them with hugs, "thanks guys. And Robbie, for practically pushing me out the door to Chris."
He laughed, "we knew you weren't going to be happy long term with Joey."
She nodded, "I know. I'm sorry. Thank you. And Joey? How did he take it?" She heard Scott laugh as he came up to them, making her groan, "that good huh?"
Scott shook his head, "he was super upset you left. And then he found out you left with Chris."
She groaned again as Chris came up to them.
"We'll talk to him. It'll be fine."
She laughed, "right. It'll be fine. He punched you at the rehearsal dinner because of the book you gave me. You think he's going to be mellow about us running away to Italy?! And then getting married on a whim!" She started to pace, highly aware that everyone was watching her.
Chris lowered his voice, trying to remain calm and not show that she had upset him, "it wasn't on a whim. I love you. You make it sound like I forced you to marry me Lex."
"No!" She stopped to look at him, placing her hands on his chest, "no. Of course not. I love you. I wanted to marry you. I'm sorry Chris. That's not what I meant." She leaned up, moving a hand to the nape of his neck as she kissed him. "Reality is just sort of catching up I guess." She pulled back, "we've just been in our own bubble the two of us, not thinking about the repercussions of those around us." She motioned to Robert and Erin, "we left them to clean up the mess we left Chris!"
Lisa stepped forward, "no. It's all fine. We took the food from the reception and donated it. And we sent everyone home. It's really fine sweetie."
Scott nodded, "the only thing you have to deal with is talking to Joey."
She nodded, feeling Chris's hand on her back, "I will get there." She rested her head on his shoulder, trying to think of what she could say to Joseph, if anything, to make it better. She sighed as she looked up at Chris, "I mean, we haven't even discussed living together."
He laughed, "I assumed it was known you would move in here. You don't have your apartment for much longer anyways, right?" He watched her for a minute before turning to everyone else, "I'm sorry. We appreciate you guys being excited for us, but can you go? I think it's a bit too much too fast right now."
She groaned, watching everyone start to leave as she sat on the couch, not being able to control her emotions.
Chris sat next to her on the couch, pulling her to him, "what's the matter?"
She shook her head, "I don't know. Let's just sit here." She felt him shake his head as she laid down, resting her head on his lap as he began to finger through her hair. She didn't know how to express the fact that she was terrified they didn't know each other enough to be living together, let alone be married. Everything went from zero to sixty far too quickly even if she knew she loved him. She sat up, seeing him watch her as she climbed into his lap, straddling him as she laid her head on his shoulder, "I'm sorry. I hope you know any doubts I may be feeling has nothing to do with how I feel about you. I love you."
"I know. I love you Lex." He wrapped his arms around her, holding her.

Alexis sighed, unlocking the door to her apartment with Chris following close behind her. They entered to see what stuff she wanted with her in the house or what stuff to get rid of. As they entered, they found the entire place ransacked. Books ripped and left everywhere. Joseph had gone through all the boxes she had packed, looking for she didn't know what.
"What the fuck?!" Chris looked around at the mess that was left from Joseph.
She stood in the middle of the living room, watching Chris trying to find something to salvage as her tears once more betrayed her. "Everything is ruined." Anything that could be broken, was.
"Oh Lex." He stood in the middle of the apartment with her, holding her as she cried, wondering how Joseph could have been so childish to ruin all her stuff. He knew he would be mad, but this was way too far.
