Across the border to freedom:
Marias sister Araceli is waiting at the airport she is holding a board with the Welcome home Eleina Zapata, automatically Lucia walks over to her, now though Lucia is part Mexican she does not speak the language fluently, Eleina speaks English a little better, luckily Araceli speaks English and greets her asks her if she is hungry Lucia looks at her and says famished, Araceli tells Eleina that they will cross the border first and will have some fresh Mexican food, its only 15 minute ride which is alright by Eleina who says I been waiting for 13 hours what's a 15 minute wait..
They are now headed to Tijuana, Araceli asks Eleina (Lucia) if she knows where she is headed to and Eleina says I'm not sure, I don't have any family in Mexico that I know of but, I really would like to go to an unknown place where I can't be found, Araceli tells Eleina you will not have a problem with the language. English is spoken in almost every city and state, they finally cross over and head to a small hole in the wall restaurant, Eleina has not had any Mexican food before it will be her first time, so that she is able to eat the food and keep it down knowing that she hasn't eaten in almost now 14 and a half hours she orders chicken soup, once done they get back in Aracelis car and head to the airport, Eleina gives Araceli an envelope containing $500 dollars and tells her it's from Maria so she will take it.
Araceli drops off Eleina at the airport, and Eleina goes straight to get her ticket. as she is looking at destination a young girl approaches her and asks if she needs help. the girl looks to be around 16 years old and Eleina says yes I really don't know where to go, this girl looks at her and says lucky you, you have a choice of where you want to go I am stuck here, after I was deported now stuck helping people with their luggage or helping guide them so, that I can get some change to eat and hopefully save enough to go home soon, Eleina looks at this poor girls eyes full of tears and asks her where are you from and what is your name? The young girl looks at her and says my name is Amelia Sanchez and I am from YELAPA a beautiful small town close to the sandy beach, but I had to leave because my mother became ill and we needed money to pay for her medical costs, Eleina tells her will you take me to your town and help me find a place to live? Amelia says are you serious? Eleina responds yes! all you have to say if people ask you who I am you tell them I am either your cousin or your aunt do we have a deal? Amelia grabs Eleina hand and says deal.
After purchasing their tickets they sit and wait for their flight Amelia walks off to the stand where they are selling food and buys two small ham tortas and two sodas,(bread rolls with ham and cheese) brings them back and for the first time Eleina is learning to live on her own.
