Chapter 24

Naruto's POV

It's been a few months that my life is going smoothly. I've been doing well and my career is going up as well. The current season which is Autumn is giving the city a nice colour. We've won the last nerve-wracking match and these days I'm enjoying my vacation with my two friends, Kiba and Lee.

I've already finished the contract off with Lee a month ago. But Lee never stopped contacting me and I'm really grateful that he was reaching out to me. Then we suddenly started hanging out together casually along with Kiba who also found the presence of Lee comforting.

I'm a popular face in this country now thanks to Sasuke Uchiha who was helping over my success. This is all because of him. If he throws me out I'll be finished. This name which I made for myself isn't even permanent. A single blow from Sasuke Uchiha can make everything shattered in a blink.

"Our captain is scary." Kiba states. Lee chuckles. He says,"Yes, I know him. We used to go to the same school back then." Kiba looks surprised. He asks showing his curiosity,"Was he always this grumpy? I bet he was unpopular among girls." Lee laughs and says,"I'm not sure about that."

The team Kiba plays for is another influencing team in the field of football. Kiba used to be our captain back in our school and we all knew how much of a talented person Kiba was.

He was determined and hardworking. My coach would always praise over how he plays and suggest me to follow his lead. Kiba was someone I could look up to and try to be like. I always wanted to be like him.

The captain of his current team is Gaara who is famous for his tactics and eyes that can see things that is out of our vision. He is another prodigy.

Some people would call him legend, some people would call him the prince of football. He's one of the richest football players out there besides Sai and Deidara. They are the perfect example of what I want to be.

"What about your team captain, Naruto? He's always smiling in front of the camera which I find odd to tell you the truth." Kiba says. I tell him," That's just a way of him acting nice. But he isn't bad in real life though. He just acts a bit asshole sometimes."

Kiba says chuckling,"How can you talk like that about your captain? He could kick your ass if this reaches to his ear." I tell him,"He'd never. He'd just kiss my ass to get me go with him for another drink." That reminds me of Yahiko.

It's been so long I've seen him. He didn't come to annoy me or do any other thing to me for quite a long time. That's why my life has been peaceful. Before that he'd just wait in front of the gym or our practice ground to just to talk me or try to convince me for going for a dinner with him.

But he never sounded serious. Every time I be with him, I feel like he's just toying with me. I can never detect what is going inside his head. He's straight cut creepy.

Last time I opened the television and see Yahiko's face all over the news channels. In every social sites he's the one who is dominating. But the news that is going around about him isn't really something pleasant. The same old rumour about him involving in illegal works and things like selling drugs.

News about a number of workers of his company on the streets protesting over their rights. Yahiko is involved in a great scandal and currently is really busy about it trying to clear the marks that these nasty scandals made on his name.

Like Deidara told me, this is nothing new. Nobody knows what type of a person Yahiko truly is. If a number of people can call him prince than the remaining can call him devil. He's just a perfect example of the word 'confusing' and this is what I sometimes find scary about him.

After returning to the apartment of Sasuke Uchiha I made sure to cook dinner for both of us. Sasuke Uchiha has stopped his insulting remarks but sometimes he just can't help but look down on me.
