Chapter 42

Nobody's POV

"Is it really alright to stay here?" Naruto asked his cousin who he contacted after years. Naruto feels embarrassed thinking what the other person might think of him because he called him when he needed his help.

But looking at the dreamy eyes of the person in front of him, Naruto feels good because it doesn't feel like that he is planning to kick him out or maybe cursing him mentally.

Sasori says nonchalantly,"No, just be quick on time to pay me for the half of the apartment." Sasori is Naruto's relative and Naruto saw him like two or maybe three times in his life. Just like Naruto, that red head doesn't have parents.

But Sasori has an apartment for himself and agreed to share it with Naruto renting half of it. Sasori says,"You are not allowed to go into my room in my absence or without my permission."

Naruto smiles nervously and says,"Of course I wouldn't that." Naruto can't even imagine someone going into someone's room without being allowed.

Naruto saw Sasori leaving saying that he will come back late from work. Naruto didn't mind that because he will have to find a job for him as well. Not just one job. But he fears that people will recognise him. That's why he came to this remote area. He doesn't want people to find out about him.

Naruto took a quick shower before running off. This place is a small town. That kind of town where people are familiar with each other, give each greetings while meeting them in the road, share food when someone cooks something delicious. This town isn't so bad for Naruto.

Naruto goes into a restaurant. A small and posh restaurant. There is a man sitting behind the counter nodding off. Naruto makes his way to the counter coughing a little. The man wakes us abruptly.

He quickly wipes the drool with the back of his hand before glaring at Naruto. Naruto smiles nervously knowing the man might not be pleased with Naruto because of him waking him up out of the blue.

Naruto says calmly,"Ahh Mister, I am here to search for a job. Do you need a new employee?" The man says in his hoarse voice,"No, I don't remember ever announcing something like that." Naruto now understands that he is not welcomed here. So he quickly leaves after bowing his head a little.

Naruto went to a few places in order to a find a job. Naruto feels thirsty now. But soon he notices a small bakery in his sight. Naruto wanted to give it one last try. He makes his way over there and opens the door hearing the sound of jingle bells.

The bakery is surrounded with glass walls and there is a lot of plants. Naruto soon hears a gentle voice,"Welcome here." Naruto turns around to see a handsome and tall man standing.

The man says,"Please sit over there. We also serve coffee here." The behaviour of the man matches the decor of the cafe. Naruto says,"I would like to have a Caramel Macchiato." The man nods before going back.

Naruto takes a look around here and there finding the place extremely likable. The man soon comes with a flat tray with a cup of coffee upon it.
That smelled good to Naruto. The mans says,"Will you mind if I ask you a few questions?"

Naruto says,"No, please go ahead." The man says,"Are you new in this town?" Naruto feels ease because the man has no idea of him being the famous footballer. Naruto says,"Yes! I came to live with my relative." The man says smiling,"That's why your face is unfamiliar to me."

Naruto says,"Mister, please tell me if you need to hire any employee. I was looking for a job." The man's face lights up to a smile and he says,"That's really fortunate! I needed someone to help me. In this town, it seems like nobody is unemployed."

Naruto asks him excitedly,"Then can you hire me!" The man says,"Yes, you can come work for me for tomorrow if your schedule is clear." Naruto asks,"Do I not need to give an interview?"

The man says laughingly,"Who would go for such a hassle for a small job like this. And I needed a man with a nice face for this job because my customers are mostly females and they would love to have an eye candy for a waiter."

Naruto is joyful knowing he has a job and the he is willing to pay a handsome amount. Naruto comes back to the apartment not finding Sasori in there. Naruto didn't feel good eating alone thinking it might be rude. So he ends up falling asleep on the couch waiting for his cousin to show up.

Naruto feels his body being shaken. Naruto worked on his instinct and ended up pushing Sasori away making him stumble. Sasori curses,"What the heck!" Naruto looks up to find Sasori looking at him frowning. Naruto apologies getting up rubbing his eyes

Sasori can't get used to another presence in his apartment after leaving alone for years but earning a little from it isn't something he's against of. Sasori asks,"Why are you sleeping on the couch?" Naruto replied,"I wanted to eat together and ended falling asleep while waiting."

Sasori takes his coat off. He says,"You don't need to do that for me. I don't have any time fixed to come home. However, did you find a job?" Naruto says happily,"Yes, there's a bakery at **** road." Sasori says raising his eyebrows,"So you are going to work in Utakata's bakery? He will surely pay you good."

Naruto asks him,"How do you know that?" Sasori says,"I just know him. He is from a family, a pretty rich one. He is doing it because it is supposed to be his hobby." Naruto is not that surprised that Sasori knows these much about the bakery owner because everyone knows each other in this small town.

Naruto ate with Sasori silently as Sasori has a habit of watching television while eating. Sasori knows the reason of Naruto coming to this town, that Naruto is a former football star. Naruto is relived that Sasori didn't care of those rumours. Sasori is surely an odd one.

Naruto went to bed but he knows that he won't be able to sleep. Naruto surely left Sasuke thinking that it is for the better but knowing that Sasuke didn't look for him, made his chest hurt. Naruto wonders, why is he even disappointed? He knows that he did just what Sasuke wanted.

Back at Konoha

The relationship between Itachi and Sasuke has gotten worse. Now that Sasuke called off the marriage all of a sudden. Itachi shouts,"You are making enemies! Don't you know what is good for this company and what is bad!"

Sasuke rubs the side of his forehead. He doesn't know what he's doing and why did he even call the marriage off which was really beneficial. He did it right after Naruto left as if it is what he had to do.

Sasuke says,"I'll thinks of a plan to get up from this loss." Itachi says,"How do you even plan to do that? You know well that Obito still has cards to show." Sasuke was closing his eyes thinking hard. He can't afford to make a mistake in this crisis.

Then his eyes widen. He says,"How about we set up a meeting with Madara?" Itachi turns his back and looks at him surprisingly. Itachi says,"Have you gone mad? We never dreamt of considering that." Sasuke says,"Why not? That is even more beneficial."

Itachi says,"Joining him means betraying father. You know, why father has been cut off from the Uchiha family." Sasuke says,"It was because he needed a puppet, someone he can use just by pulling strings and father wasn't so fond of that."

Itachi says,"Now, you feel the need to be his vessel just for a mere guy who ran away? Do you know what that means?" Sasuke says feeling defeated,"I don't know."

Itachi continues,"Think that, this is a blessing for us that Madara Uchiha doesn't want Obito to work under him. He will cage you in his grip right away if you give in. He has eyes for us, the blood of Fugaku Uchiha."

Itachi says before leaving,"Think of your decision once again. You still have time to fix this." Sasuke was left alone in his office. He has a great headache. He has made a mess out of the situation. Everything was perfect until Naruto left and Sasuke did things not even thinking properly.

He still has time to fix it, before the news get out. The Yamanaka family is about to make ruckus. This could put a mark on their name and that is a great loss. Is doing all these just to take a mere plaything back worth it?

What does Naruto mean to him that he's going such length just because he does not have this man into the palm of his hands? Sasuke had everything perfectly in front of him, what will he do now?
