💋Cecily💋Eight terrible hours in that bumpy jet of Vice's, or rather Teseo's...it was Vice's until he died and left his legacy to be upheld by Teseo, by force.
We hit so much turbulence that I couldn't even cradle the toilet I was so sick and even Santiago, who I had never met before now was starting to voice his concerns for me, apparently he's married with children and his wife struggled with terrible 'morning' sickness but never this bad.
Teseo had to carry me out of the jet, grumbling on how he knew he shouldn't have brought me, but the way he's holding me against his chest in the backseat of the SUV right now, the freaking backseat reclines in this thing! This affection from him has me thinking that he just can't handle it when I'm sick, maybe he's even worried about me and doesn't know how to express it. "I'm sorry..." I croak, voice long gone, my throat hurts so bad and the backs of my eyeballs are throbbing. He responds with a grunt, pulling me closer against his chest then starts stroking his fingers gently up and down my arm. "Shh, sleep. We have a long ride ahead of us." He coos lowly. No matter how exhausted I am I can't keep my eyes shut, I want to look around even though it's pitch black outside but I'm far too comfortable on his chest to bother sitting up.
I snap shut my eyes when Santiago turns in his seat, furthest from us and speaks in a hushed tone, "I sent Mikey out to get your girl some tea and ginger-soda, I remember a few safe ones from when Lacy was sick with our girl. We should call it a night so that you can take care of her, we can get everybody together in the morning!" he over accentuates his M's and he sounds so refreshingly kind compared to anybody else I have encountered with Teseo and I believe he is probably the Yang to Teseo's Ying, polar opposites.
Teseo shifts in the seat, I'm sure he's getting uncomfortable under me, I'm curled up in the seat closest to the door with my legs tucked up to my chest but leaning on his side/hip with my arm thrown over his rib cage and my head rested on his chest. "Nah, we stick to the plan. Tell Mikey he's on post at the condo, I'll get her settled when we get there, then we'll head out. Yeah?" He rasps out, keeping his tone of authority while trying to be quiet but his voice vibrates from his chest and directly into my head. I didn't actually expect him to change any of his plans for me, I'll be fine while he's out, I'll probably just switch the TV on and fall asleep, no big deal.
It's not a big deal Cecily.
I feel a painful pang in my heart at his dismissive tone, I had no expectations that coming here with him meant we would spend a lot of time together, I just know that at least I'll see him daily, hopefully, this way at least.
"I got it!" Santiago responds, taking the hint and turning away from us again. I doze in and out for the next hour, Teseo plays with my hair for a bit before getting distracted on his phone for the rest of the time. When the car finally stops, he straightens up our chair, "Jesus, finally." He grumbles, giving me a shake, "Come on, you can walk now, huh?" He mumbles against my head, planting one kiss the the top before he pushes me upright. I stretch and nod lazily, smoothing my hair out of my face before the door is opened for us. Teseo holds my arm as I climb out then follows, wrapping an arm around my shoulders to lead me down a masonry walkway towards a dimly lit front porch of a small two story square shaped stucco condo, he stops us and unlocks the door then swings it open. It's cool inside and several lamps are on throughout the house, I'm assuming that Mikey guy was in here, preparing it for our arrival. Santiago walks closely behind us, branching off to do a sweep through the house as soon as we're inside. Behind him was whoever drove us, wheeling our two suitcases. We stand in the foyer waiting until Santiago comes back around and nods at Teseo "All clear." He confirms, then looks at me, "How ya holding up?" He kindly asks, I look up at Teseo to find him staring down at me, assuming that it's fine if I answer for myself, I look at Santiago offering a small smile, "I'm okay, just really tired now." I rasp, clearing my throat in useless hope that my voice will come back. "Well, you can go get some rest now..." he smiles in return, turning his attention back to Teseo, "I'll wait out front." He decides, taking his leave as soon as Teseo hums, indicating that it's a good idea and as soon as the door closes behind him, the arm around my shoulders is pulled away.
