Thoma • Soft spot

Being the 'Fixer' and a housekeeper is quite the responsibility. Thoma makes long days and often comes home completely worn out and exhausted.

He didn't think he could get more tasks, but recently he assigned another one to himself. Not the Yashiro Commission, no, he himself.

Get a date.

And not just some date. No, a certain fellow blonde has been occupying his mind. He's known her for a long time and she was the one who found him when he first got to Inazuma. She took care of him, gave him a place to stay, taught him everything he needed to know to survive in Inazuma and has kept him safe from every tongue that was being raised against him.

But the problem was, he didn't even have the time to plan out the perfect date! First the Vision Hunt Decree, then he had to go into hiding, which wasn't so bad considering she came by every day. And then he got bombarded with work as soon as he got out.

And so, that's how he ended up in front of Kamisato Ayato's office. He had sheepishly knocked, before getting permission to enter and asked for some time off. Surprisingly, Ayato approved and gave him at least two weeks off. And there he stood, back outside the office, still in shock.

Did Celestia bless him with luck or something?

As he walks out of the estate, he runs into the very person he's been longing to see.

'Ah, Bella, haven't seen you in a while!'

'Hey, yeah it really has been quite some time. I've been out and about lately. I'm sorry if I didn't come to see you as often...'

'It's okay, I'm glad you're okay! I've really missed you.'

'I missed you too.' They hug each other tightly and she looks up to him to see his green irises stare back with a soft expression.

'You look relaxed, did something good happen?'

'I have two weeks off!'

'Really? That's great! You really need to rest well, your whole body feels tense.'

'I know, I know...but I've been meaning to ask you...umh...if you wanted to go out...with me...?'

'Thoma...'

'I understand if you can't or don't want to...'

'Thoma, bend down a little.'

'Huh? Why-' Thoma forgets how to speak when he feels her lips on his cheek and the temperature of his cheeks is rising at a speed even the Shogun's lightning can't match.

'I'd love to- oh shit, did I make you malfunction...?'

'I'm fine!' He exclaims out of cheer panic and she laughs at his embarrassment.

'Are you sure-'

'Yes, yes I'm fine! W-was that a yes? Well, I'll pick you up at home on Friday then!' She watches Thoma run home and chuckles at the way he panicked when she gave him that little peck. He really is the softest boy in existence.

Opening the door to three knocks, Bella is putting a small clip in her hair as she welcomes Thoma in her cozy estate. She had about the same size of a home as the Kamisatos but her gate is actually always closed. Very few people know what goes on within those walls, but the ones that have experienced it are either a lot more confident and skilled or scared for life.

Thoma has seen it all as well. It went on from the early morning until dusk and sometimes even till midnight. Very few are stubborn enough to make it through. He has to admit, he was a bit scared of Bella when he awoke and first witnessed her train her students. It wasn't the same soft spoken and gentle person he had envisioned. But as soon as she saw him, her expression softened and she took care of him gently. Asking him how he was feeling, if he was hungry, thirsty, wanted to go out for a while or something else. And each time he saw that switch he fell a little more for her. Unfortunately all she could offer him was a roof above his head, food and clothes. She had tried to teach him her swordsmanship, but eventually handed him a polearm. He was a bit clumsy to have a dual sword, but the polearm could serve as a great alternative. However, she was not specialized in polearms and brought him to the Kamisato Estate. Ayato taught him how to use the polearm and after a while offered him a position as Chief Retainer.
