'What do you think you're doing?'

Childe gets spooked by a sudden voice questioning him and scrambles all of the mess together in panic, before turning around to see Bella towering over him with a threatening look on her face. Oh he is definitely fucked this time.

'Well?'

'Uh you see, I was just looking for my badge, so I thought maybe...'

'Why would your badge be in my weapon box? As far as I know, you have your own weapons.'

'I mean we sometimes borrow each other's swords. So it might have latched onto one of yours.'

'Ajax.' Oh she is actually irritated. Not good.

'Okay, okay, okay! I know you told me to not sneak weapon box, but I have a good reason!' Her face tells him to continue and for a moment he is distracted by her eyes which have some kind of sparkle in them, making her irises look silver instead of gray.

'Ajax, answers please?' He gets snapped out of his trance by Bella waving her hand in front of him and he recovers quickly by giving her a smug smirk.

'What if I told you I wanted to have special swords forged just for you as a gift from me, to express my undying love for you.'

'The ones I have now are good enough, no need.' She pecks him on his nose and gets a cheeky grin in return, before putting back the weapons in the box and closing it securely.

'Now that you're here though...it really has been quite some time since I've seen you. Where have you been?'

'Ah you know, doing my sparring sessions with the Traveler! They're getting stronger each day so I can't afford to get left behind. But man, they're amazing and powerful, I can't wait for our next sparring session...' as Childe rambles on and on about the traveler, Bella stays quiet, regretting asking as she already could've guessed. If he isn't send out on an errand, he is to be found with the Traveler. Ever since he met them, it's always them and never her anymore.

'Well if you're out with the Traveler tomorrow, I'll be out for tea with mr. Zhongli. Have fun though.'

'W-wait, you're going out with mr. Zhongli?'

'What's with the sudden suspicion? Can't I hang out with a friend? You don't expect me to stay here and wait for you?'

'No, no, I trust you! But it's just...I wanted to take you out tomorrow night, is that okay with you?'

But is he actually going to show up on time? She asks herself that question every so often throughout the following day. She took his offer, but it didn't take long for doubt to take over and have her wonder if he is still in love with her the way she is with him. 'Undying love' he was probably bluffing.

'Is everything alright Bella? You haven't touched your tea.' Zhongli's question shakes her out of her thoughts and makes her quickly apologize to the gentleman.

'Please don't apologize, tell me, what's on your mind? Did that rascal from Snezhnaya do something foolish again?' He pours her a new cup of tea, waiting for her to open up to him, even if he is no expert in relationships.

'No that's not it...he...umh...as you know, he has these weekly sparring sessions with the infamous Traveler. And ever since he's met them...it feels like he's forgotten all about me. He had asked if he could take me out tonight, but based on his recent behavior, I've been questioning if he would even show up or just forget. So...yeah, that's what's been occupying my mind.'

'He would be the biggest fool in Teyvat to let you go. As far as my knowledge on these matters goes, once you have chosen your partner, you promise to put the same amount of effort into the relationship as them. This also goes for friendships but on a much more intimate level.'
