"So, any plans for tomorrow?" Kaveh asks while taking a sip from his wine, making Bella look away from the window.

"Mmh...no...Haitham is not that type of person. He will probably just go on about his day like usual."

"If you ask me, you seem more like friends rather than a couple."

"Kaveh..."

"How about this, we celebrate Valentine's together, but as friends? Galentine's? Yeah?" She chuckles at her friend's suggestion, knowing he also does this to console himself a little for being single.

"Didn't you finally get paid last weekend? How about we go shopping for the day? I've been meaning to get some new clothes, now that spring is getting closer."

"You're right, we should! We can even style each other!"

Her phone goes off, while Kaveh is talking about all the things he wants to do for tomorrow and she signs for him to be quiet for a bit.

"Hey..."

"I just got off work. Did you already buy groceries?"

"I already bought groceries, no worries."

"Alright, do you need anything else?"

"No, you can just go home and rest. I'll be fine."

"Are you out? I hear a lot of noise in the background?"

"Yeah, they let me off early today, so I went for drinks with Kaveh."

"I see. Sha'll I get dinner started when I get home?"

"Sure. I'll go pay now and be on my way."

"See ya." She doesn't respond and simply hangs up, betraying herself on feeling disappointed about tomorrow. She knew he wasn't exactly one for special days, but that envious feeling of seeing other couples planning out their Valentine's just stings a little.

"I don't get how you two are still dating."

"Single people don't get to talk."

"Unprovoked!"

As soon as she gets home, Bella takes off her shoes and goes upstairs to change into more comfortable clothes, undoing her face from her make-up and throw her work clothes in the laundry basket. She checks in on her social media for a bit, before making her way downstairs to be met by Al-Haitham with his arms crossed and leaning against the doorway of the livingroom.

"So we're not saying hello anymore when we get home?" He asks and she rubs her eyes tiredly.

"I've had busy days so getting off early was a treat. My apologies for being tired. Everything's been all over the place..."

"You didn't sound like it on the phone."

"And that was before I got a call from work. They need me to come in tomorrow early in the morning so my plans also got thrown out of the window. Any other questions, detective?"

"You're innocent." He says, pulling her into a warm hug in an attempt to console her. She does sound exhausted and neither of them have had any time to relax and take it slow. She usually makes longer days than him so it was surprising to hear she was off early, but it came with a price apparently.

"I was suppose to go out shopping with Kaveh since he finally got paid, so I had to call and disappoint him as well."

"He gets paid and immediately throws it on useless things, huh?"

"Don't be like that, he is finally earning a stable income, otherwise he'd still be living here."

"I was just kidding. Dinner's ready, let's eat." He kisses her forehead, before making his way back to the kitchen to serve dinner. Both like to watch documentaries, so they eat dinner in front of the TV, watching a documentary on the evolution of language. It's a perfect way to spend time together, without having to exchange words, giving them both time to recharge a bit.
