You woke up as the sun shine on the windows. You yawn and sit in the driver's seat. Your eyes widen to see the two zombies still roaming around in front of the bus.
You: Oh my fucking GOD!
You walk to Russel and slap him on the back of the head. The pain woke him up, immediately standing up.
Russel: What the fuck is your problem!
You: Dude! I told you to clear those zombies before we sleep! You even left the bus door open!
Russel: Why are you pinning this on me!? You're the driver!
You: You literally told me last night that you will sleep late because you aren't tired yet.
You: I asked you nicely to kill those things, and you said yes.
Russel: Shit... I'm so sorry.
You: It's good. No one got hurt. Now go kill those before Dale wakes up and gives you a scolding.
Russel quickly picks up his shovel and walks outside to dispatch the zombies.
It was easy. The other was faster, but nothing Russel's nimble body couldn't handle.
The other two wake up, and you greet them on this new day.
You: Good morning. Next on the agenda is that barrier and the town straight up ahead.
Mark: If it isn't too much of a hassle, can I check up on someone?
Mark: My friend, Joe. He helped me and my sister settle in this place and was the first one to greet us. I want to see if he's okay.
You: An additional member wouldn't hurt. Tell me where to go.
You signal Russel to go back, and he does. You explain to him Mark's request, and he accepts. More people means less grunt work for him.
You take the road to the right and keep on driving. That is until you see a pickup truck in the middle of the road, broken down, it seems.
Under the truck was a man, probably fixing his vehicle. Mark's eyes light up. This is presumably the man he's looking for.
You: Is that him?
Mark: Yes.
A nearby barricade is seen just behind the truck. A zombie stands up from behind it. What's weird is that it has some kind of blood-red aura surrounding it.
It sniffs the air and locks on the man under the truck. Mark's eyes widen, and he runs outside the bus.
The zombie ran faster than those you encountered before. It was going straight at Mark's friend.
Thankful for Mark's fast-acting, he got to his friend faster than the zombie. But it was all too late to get his friend to safety.
Mark: Come at me!
Mark times it and raises his foot. The zombie is inches from him, and he kicks it. Mark's superior leg strength makes the zombie tumble down on the ground.
Not letting up, Mark runs towards it and lodges his hammer onto its head, killing it.
Russel: That was the literal fucking definition of never skip leg day! Cool!
Russel and Dale run outside to assist if more of those ever come. You are about to follow to document the bleed-aura of that zombie, but it disappeared along with its life.
