"Guys. Before we start with the group. I have an old friend coming in. So, just keep dancing when she does."
It's Mona. Or Jenny. One of them. Nikki is so happy.
"Okay. Let's get started."
We get to work. We're running the last part when the door opens. And I was right. Mona. Nikki waves.
"What, you can't not dance along can you?"
"Not a chance."
We finish.
"Guys, this is Mona. Mona, this is the team."
"Well, let's see what Nikki has taught you guys."
Nikki and Mona go to the side. And we run it.
"Adam. Lift Callie there."
Adam is strong. Blonde hair. Brown eyes. Wonder what his dream is.
Nikki seems so happy with Mona. I see how good they are together. Nikki understands her perfectly. No wonder they make a great team. We finish.
"Good job guys." We head out. "Bethany, Callie, come here."
We walk to them.
"You guys did great. Definitely stuck out in the group."
"Thank you." We say in unison.
"These are my two soloists for this weekend."
"Nice choice. Both very good dancers. Probably the top two."
Bethany and I look at each other.
"Bethany has been with me for a year and a half. And Callie a days."
"Wow. You catch on quick Callie."
"Thank you."
"Bethany, your good to go. I know you have that test tomorrow. Good luck on that by the way."
"Thanks Nikki."
"Callie, can we run through your solo quick?"
"Sure. I've got all the time in the world."
"Okay."
I run it with the music.
"She is such an awesome dancer. I'm not kidding." I hear Nikki say. "A few weeks ago she came back from a back injury for a month and a half. And she hasn't dropped the talent at all."
"She's good. And that's impressive."
"And she's a straight A student."
"Wow. That's hard for a dancer."
"For a normal dancer. She stays here till like 9 every night."
"Wow."
"First one in, last one out."
"That's true passion. Reminds me of you."
Did she just say I remind her of Nikki. Oh my God!
"No. She's better. She has more then I do."
No I don't. Your the best dancer there is. I think to myself that I'm saying it to Nikki.
"Well. She will be something big someday."
"Callie. Tell her what your dream is!"
"I want to be an Olympic gymnast. Or a gymnastics teacher."
My dream is two things now. Maybe I don't want to be big. I just want to dance.
Nikki looks at me.
"You told me one of those."
"I may have added to it."
"To something big. That is your dream. How long have you thought that?"
"A few years. But maybe I just want to dance."
"Then dance in the Olympics. Be known!"
"What if I don't want to be well known."
"You've got a point there."
I finish. Nikki says I can go. So I do.
