Josh and I went back to school during lunch time. Rue was already waiting for us when we arrived at the cafeteria. She looks puzzled seeing us together.
"Then again, am I missing something? I heard the two of you skipped class." Rue frowned.
"Well, I had to make Stella feel better." Josh smiled.
"What the hell? You pervert!" Rue raised her tone.
"No! That's not what I meant! I had to comfort her and it's my duty as her friend." Josh answered defensively.
"Urgghhh, retardo. You should've completed your sentence!"
"Ohhh, sorry, my bad. Only a pervert would give meaning to what I just said." Josh smirked.
"Piss off Josh."
"Since when did you start speaking.. or should I say cursing in British, Rue?" I asked.
"I forgot to tell you. I am partly British, and besides, cursing in British is waaay more awesome, just like me." Rue grinned.
"Oh hell no. There she goes again!" Josh exclaimed, throwing both his hands in the air.
"Actually, it's 'bloody hell' in British, Josh." I smiled.
"Too. Much. Briticism." Josh frowned.
"I'm getting some noshes mates. Would you care to accompany me?" Rue said in a British accent.
"But of course me lady." I responded in a British accent.
"So what are you on about?" someone responded, but it wasn't Josh's voice, it was his.
"Hiya Chase!" Rue smiled at him.
"Hey Cruella." Chase gave her a hug.
"Oh, hey bro!" Josh said as they exchanged brotherly hugs.
"Fancy meeting you here Ella." Chase smiled at me.
What the hell is thinking? He doesn't seem to care that everyone in this damn cafeteria is looking at us.
"Uhh, hi. Umm, I need to go to the bathroom." I made an excuse.
"But I thought were eating lunch together?" Josh asked and gave me a wink.
"I'll have to pass."
"But you haven't eaten anything yet?" Rue asked, eyeing me.
"Maybe I'll catch up with you guys later. Right now, I really have to take a piss." I half smiled.
"I'll go with you. You lads go ahead; we'll catch up with you as soon as we're done." Rue smiled and pulled me away from them.
Rue and I made our way out of the cafeteria until we're finally out. I was practically panting because it seemed like we almost ran on the way out. We went to the nearest possible bathroom. I was quiet the whole time then Rue finally broke the silence.
"Stella, I know you're not okay with what happened and this isn't gonna work out either if you're gonna keep on running away from him. And in case you're wondering, this place isn't a safe one to talk about this." Rue said in a voice low voice.
"But.. I just can't look at him right now, especially with everything that happened this morning."
"I understand but don't you think you don't have to do it this way? You're both friends and you mean a lot to him just as much as he means a lot to you. You don't have to change things just because of what happened."
"But everyone in this school hates me."
"Who cares about what they think Stella? You have us. Screw what they think."
