After the talk, Chase and I took our shoes off and went for a short stroll by the beach. We decided to take shade under the coconut trees and sit on the sand.
"You feel better?" Chase asked.
"Much better." I smiled.
"Now there's that smile I was looking for."
"You really know how to make a girl smile, if I do say so myself."
"That's one of my special skills Ella." Chase winked.
I let out a small laugh and lied back on the tree trunk. He's sitting beside me, so close that my left shoulder is touching his right.
"Isn't this the best?" Chase asked out of nowhere, eyes locked on waves.
"Yeah, I guess it is." I said, staring up ahead. Actually, it is Chase. It's always the best when I'm with you.
"I wish it could always be like this, you know?"
"Yeah, I wish that too. Talk about peaceful living." And spending my time with you like this more often.
"Not what I had in mind, but something like that."
"You know what? I think I need some water to wash off the worries I've had earlier." I said as I stood up shaking the sand off my shorts. I put my phone inside my shoes to keep it safe.
"In that? Hmm, let me remind you that you didn't bring extra clothes with you." Chase looked up at me, grinning.
"I'm not going skinny dipping if that's what's on your mind CJ. And besides, I don't even think that it's allowed here."
"But if it is, then you're going for it?"
"Well, I've always wanted to try it though." I smirked.
"Well that's interesting." Chase smirked back.
"You know, I really feel tall right now with you looking up at me like that." I grinned.
"Oh yeah?" Chase asked as he stood up, towering over me. He's so close and he's looking down at me with his green eyes, but this time it perfectly matched the color of the sea.
"You wish." I said as I pushed him off and ran to the water.
"Oh it's on!" Chase shouted as he ran up toward me.
I splashed some water on him as he came up close, and he did the same. We're like kids who just got into the beach for the first time.
"Ow!" Chase said, as he covered his eyes.
"Nice try CJ, but I'm not taking any chances." I said, a foot away from him.
"Ella, seriously, I'm not joking. The water got into my eyes!" Chase said while rubbing his eyes.
