The days went by so fast and I couldn't believe that it was already my 2nd month here at SCU. The last thing I knew is that mom drove me here and now, I'm already packing my things for the weekend. Mom is picking me up tomorrow at 10 in the morning, so I still have plenty of time to hang-out with my friends or maybe go to the mall or go watch a movie or something. Rue entered the room with Chase and Josh, the three of them all blasting with laughter. I was sitting on the floor together with my backpack and loads of Ziplocks filled with underwear, clothes and toiletries. They looked at me in their puzzled reactions.
"Uhh, Stella? Why are you packing?" Rue asked.
"Oh, hello. I'm sorry if I forgot to tell you but I'm going home for the weekend tomorrow. Mom's picking me up at 10 in the morning."
"Why is that so?" Chase asked.
"Mom wanted me to stay at home for the weekend because she's attending a seminar and my sister's going on a school fieldtrip, so no one's home."
"So she's coming all the way here just to pick you up then go home and leave again?" Josh asked.
"Yeah and she's probably with my sister."
"Well it looks like Rue's gonna be on silent mode this weekend." Chase smirked at her.
"Not unless that she's going with Stella." Josh said jokingly.
"That's a great idea Josh! Stella, can I please go with you? " Rue asked with enthusiasm. The rest of us looked at her altogether.
"What? I've got no plans for the weekend. I won't be able to visit my Aunt Mildred 'til next month. She's still on vacation and my parents are still in England, they also won't be home or I also won't be able to visit them 'til Thanksgiving." Rue pouted. So, that explains why she's fluent in British.
"What about Josh and me?" Chase asked, pouting.
"I'm sick of you two retards." Rue smirked.
"That hurts." Josh made a frown and pretended that he was struck in his chest. Rue rolled her eyes at them.
"So, can I go with you?"
"Sure, I guess." I smiled at her.
"Yaay! Ha! Sucks for you two!" Rue said enthusiastically, jumping up and down like a kid, sticking a tongue at Chase and Josh.
"Psshh. Anyway, where do you live Ella?"
"I'm from San Diego, Chase."
"So, we're like from the same place this whole time?!"
"What? No way! For real?" I exclaimed.
"Yeah! But I never went to school there because my parents wanted me to go to school here so I have to like, travel like you every month. And in case you didn't know, Rue and Josh are from the same hometown as well." Chase smiled. I opened my mouth in shock.
"How come I never knew about this? We've been like, together for 2 months!" I pouted.
"Stella, we're not the type of friends who have starting conversations like 'so, where are you from? I'm from this place', blah blah blah." Josh grinned.
"We're more of the I-never-thought-you're-from-this-place kind of friends. It all comes along naturally." Rue smiled.
"Surprises are still awaiting you Ella. You'll get used to us." Chase said.
"Like how Chase used to be a ballerina who wears pink tutu." Josh said. I almost choked with what he said.
"Fuck you man." Chase said to Josh.
