Rue and I spent our afternoon dipped in the Jacuzzi while indulging ourselves with conversations and a few cocktail mixes which I made just enough for the two of us. Mom taught me a few tips and tricks up her sleeves. She wasn't just a Chef, but also a bartender as well. She attended bartending classes when she was still in college, and Dad met her in one of her competitions. Even though drinking was not really an issue in our family, wild parties are still forever banned in our house. I was never a fan of those anyway. I mean, I've attended for like, 2 times before but I don't really enjoy it that much. There's just too much energy to use and besides the fact that you have to really prepare what stuff to wear, seeing wasted people making out on every corner of your house is so gross.

"Stella, how'd you learn this stuff again?" Rue asked.

"Mom taught me when I was in high school." I smiled.

"Oh, right. Sorry. Damn, are you sure these are mild drinks? I think I'm starting to feel dizzy."

"Yeah, I'm sure. Hmm, you wanna go inside and sleep?" I asked.

"Yes please. And besides, we've had too much sun for today." Rue smiled.

It was still 4 in the afternoon when Rue and I decided to take a nap before having our dinner. I took a shower, got dressed in my PJs and waited for Rue. After waiting for her for half an hour, I decided to check on her, and turns out that she already had fallen asleep a while after she got out of the shower. I smiled at the sight of her sleeping like a sweet and innocent child, and returned back to my room. I lay down on my bed and looked at the stars painted on my ceiling. I yawned as I tried connecting each one with the other. My phone beeped and I lazily picked it up from my bedside table, nearly hitting the lamp. I smiled as soon as I saw his name popped up on my screen.

I woke up at around 6:30 PM, and checked on Rue. She was still sleeping soundly so I decided to go downstairs and prepare our dinner. I took my iPod with me and connected it to the speaker placed in our mini bar and played some music that could accompany me while re-heating our food. Sway by Bic Runga was playing out loud, blasting through the speakers while I went back to the kitchen to reheat our food. I took out what's left of pretty much everything that Mom cooked this afternoon.

"Don't stray, don't ever go away... I should be much too smart for this; you know it gets the better of me... Sometimes when you and I collide, I fall into an ocean of you, pull me out in time don't let me drown, let me down... I say it's all because of you... and here I go, losing my control... I'm practicing your name so I could say it to your face... It doesn't seem right to look you in the eye... let all the things you mean to me come trembling out my mouth..." I sang as I went back to the dining area to set up our dinner while waiting for the food. I swear microwave minutes are one of the longest minutes in life.
