We get to the house and Louis's starts mashing the potatoes and I call to order pizza. We eat dinner and then head to the dance. As soon as we arrive, the girls disperse, looking for their dates, and leaving Louis and I alone. It was pretty odd because Louis was just in cargos with a stripe shirt and he had 6 inches taller than me.
"I'll go get us some punch..." Louis suggests before disappearing much like my friends had.
"Okay..." I say, glad that we were talking now. After leaving the tree, we hadn't talked to each other. I decide to go over by the D.J. and not draw attention to myself, which, knowing my luck, only led Lawrence Brown, fifth hottest guy in school, to ask me to dance.
"NO!" Louis shouts, grabbing me from behind the waist. "SHE'S MINE!" He yells glaring at the retreating Lawrence.
"Louis, do you want me to go death or something," I question nudging his rib cage.
"Of course not! Then you couldn't hear me sing happy birthday to you. I know how much you LOVE my voice," he teases.
"Wanna dance?" Louis asks, taking my hand in his own.
"Um,sure," I reply, my throat dry. Louis shows me to the dance floor. He starts showing me his moves he made up like 'pat the dog screw the light bulb' and 'stop the traffic let them through'. I couldn't stop laughing but he eventually stops.
"I wonder how many people we just convinced we are mental," I whisper as he giggles.
"I bet ummm maybe.... Well everyone," he grins, crinkles forming under his eyes as he flashes a cheeky smile. I smirk as a sudden slow song starts to play.
Louis stuck out his hand. "May I?" He asks with a very stern look on his face that makes my knees wobble.
"Of course you may," I stutter as he holds me close, his breath warm on my forehead, my head on his shoulder. We danced like this until the song was over. As I looked up into Louis's brilliant blue eyes and I knew he had stolen my heart. He looked at me like he was about to kiss me but then changed his mind. I looked away and bit my bottom lip so hard it started to bleed.
At nine Louis drove me home and the other girls said they would walk home. We sat in the car and it reminded me of a few weeks ago when Louis and I were in the Pizza Hut parking lot. We pulled up to the driveway.
"Erica about tonight... I'm so-"
"Louis don't waste your breath. It wouldn't have worked out anyway," I nervously laugh as I hop out before Louis could get the door for me.
"Thanks... For coming though." I sigh looking at my feet.
"No problem," Louis replies. I turned and walked inside my house. I run upstairs to my room and throw myself on my bed and cried. Ten minutes later I put on my pajamas, putting my hair in a bun and washing off my makeup. I grab my pillow and head downstairs, flopping on the sofa. I turn on the TV and flip through the channels, displeased with my findings including The Notebook, Love Actually, He's Just Not That Into You, and Love Story.
I throw the remote in frustration. What's with all the love movies? I picked up the remote and for the sake of it punched in the date 1-9. Channel 19... A show was on called... The X Factor
