I opened my eyes, but had tunnel vision. I sat up in the cold, hard hospital bed and called out Louis's name. He wasn't there. The doctor came in and looked shocked.
"You're alive?" he asked sounding clearly startled.
"Yeah..." I said in a raspy voice confusion plastered on my face.
"But- you were dead... your heart stopped! How are you alive?"
I gave him a worried look as I glanced around the room. "Where's Louis?" I asked.
"I-" he started as the boys came bursting in. I didn't see Louis.
"Doctor, he- Erica you're alive!" screamed Zayn hugging me. I gave him a sympathetic smile as he squeezed me tighter.
"I was so worried I had lost you," he whispered, kissing my cheek.
"Where's Lou?" I asked.
"Doctor you gotta help us! It's Louis!" Harry said, "I think he's hurt!"
I jumped out of bed, stumbling slightly as Zayn threw an arm around my shoulders, and followed the boys down the hall. It was only when I heard two snickering fourteen year old boys that I noticed I was only in a hospital paper thin robe. I flicked them off. I continued to run to where all the boys were gathered.
There, dead on the floor, was Louis, with a scalpel through his heart.
I screamed bloody mary when I felt
someone shaking me. I covered my head with my hands and continued to scream.
"Erica calm down." I heard a soothing voice say that sounded like Louis's. I continued to scream, mad at the mockery of someone faking him.
"GOSH ERICA SHUT UP!!!" I heard. My eyes flung open and I saw Louis. He hugged me tight ad I cried into his chest. He kissed my ear.
"I've been trying to wake you up. You were screaming and flaying around. Are they back?" Louis asked.
I nodded and sobbed "Make them go away."
*********
I was released after two weeks of being in the IC unit. My dad even came to Paris to make sure I was fine. And never once did Louis leave my side. I was placed on a strong pain medication, causing horrible hallucination and nightmarish dreams. One recent one that particularly disturbed went as such.
It was a sunny afternoon in the Alps. I was sipping orange juice on the
balcony of our chalet while eating pancakes alone. On the side of the mountain I saw a fire slowly growing bigger. I blinked and it was gone. I stepped back and felt a hand slip over my mouth and my head crashed against a wooden table. I heard someone's voice.
"Finally I found you!" some person chuckled darkly. I screamed flailing my arms around. I heard footsteps pounding as the person jumped off the balcony. I touched my head and pulled it away seeing it covered in blood. I coughed up blood as well spraying it on the ground. Louis burst through the doors and grabbed me.
"What happened? Who did this?" he screamed enraged. I slowly lifted up my hand covered in dried blood and pointed to the mountain.
"Erica, no one is there." I closed my eyes and saw red.
"Louis someone was there... Trust me." I said opening my eyes.
"Im sorry but-"
"Why would I do this to myself!" I screamed. He shook his head.
"I think you hit your head. You must have fallen."
"NO! Someone grabbed me and pushed me." I said tears brimming in my eyes.
