1 week later

"Home sweet home!" I say plopping on my couch. It must be at least 100 degrees outside and the air conditioning is on full force. I dig through my bag of souvenirs. This includes many snow-globes (my grandma had a whole collection that I'd inherited when she died) cheese, old books, a bunch of tee shirts (that's say kiss me I'm Irish), hats, and for Louis, a mini pot of gold the size of a can of cat food. All this is scattered on the floor when Lawrence walks in.

"Hey babe! How was Germany?" he says.

"Ireland." I corrected

"Isn't that near Germany?" he asks. I clench my teeth. I needed to break up with this idiot.

"No, it's not Sweetie."

"You sure?"

"Positive. Listen Lawrence we need to talk."

"Okay what do- hey does that snow globe have a leprechaun in it?" he yells running over to it. I hit my face with my palm. This would be harder than I thought.

"Listen Lawrence," I say standing up "I don't things are working out between us." I say biting my lip. I had never broken up with a guy before. Lawrence glares at me for a second. Crap- there goes my reputation.

"I understand and I agree. Can I have this snow globe though?" he says holding up the one with the leprechaun in it.

"Nooo." I say escorting him to the door.

"Fine, well I think every couple needs to do this sometime and we never did so-" he takes my face in his hands and kisses me softly on the lips. I'm in a daze and he gives me a sheepish grin.

"Now can I have the snow globe?" he asks

"Nooo! Now get out of my house!" I say shoving him out the door. Once he is gone I got to the sink and wash my mouth. At least that relationship is over. I head up to my room and plop on my bed. My phone rings. I look at the number... Unknown

Me- Hello?

Unknown- Guess what carrot?!?

Me- Louis?

Unknown- Yeah guess what!

Me- What?

Louis- I got in! I'm gonna be on the X-Factor! We go back next month for boot camp.

Me- So... Does that mean you're coming back early (my heart rapidly beating)

Louis- Uhhh... Well

Me- Louis? What do you mean Uhh well

Louis- I'm staying here in London until boot camp. Mr. Cowell said I could hang at one of his apartments. It will be easier than coming back here then leaving again.

Me-........

Louis- Hello you still there?

Me-.......

Louis- Line must have been cut off.

There was a click. Louis wasn't coming back. Not until... Well whenever, depending if he gets through to live shows. I pick up my songbook and fling it across the room.

"THIS ISN'T FAIR!" I scream. Good thing I'm home alone. I rip the locket off my neck and throw it out my open window. I pound down the stairs and through the forest to the meadow. But what I see leaves me speechless. In front of me lays a construction site and the stump of Louis and I's tree. I run to the stump.

"What the heck..." I mumble.

"Excuse me miss, you need to leave." says a worker trudging up to me.

"May I ask what's going up here?" I say, holding back tears.

"A shopping center. That way you and your friends can come buy all the goodies you want." he grins mockingly. I didn't want a mall. I wanted my tree.

"May I ask how far back it will go?"

"Past this old stump that's for sure." he says kicking the stump. I feel like I've been kicked too.

"Who bought this land?" I ask, fire burning in my eyes.

"Why do you keep asking so many damn questions?" he hisses. I slug him in the mouth, knocking out a few teeth (curtsey of Louis). I grab his shirt.

"Listen, I'm not a kid. I want some respect. Now, who the hell is putting up a shopping center?!?" I scream.

"Mr. Frederick Brown. Happy?" he sputters. I gasp, releasing his shirt. That was Lawrence's father.

"How long ago was this arranged?" I say fiddling with my hair.

"About a month ago." he says. I silently sigh. At least it wasn't some sort of revenge from Lawrence.

"Now miss, please leave in the next couple of minutes."

"Wait!"

"What do you want now girl?" he yells.

"Leave the stump. Move the lines. Please. And you won't regret it." I plead

"And why that. I don't take orders from little ladies."

"Because if you don't... I will."

"What you mean? Like you would-"

"Oh yes, I would never underestimate the power of a teenager." I say picking one of his teeth off the ground. He nods and whistle to his friends.

"Fellas new change in blueprints." he yells. I smile and he walks away. I sit on the stump o the tree. Nearby I find a branch to the old tree. I grab and bring it to my backyard. I dig a small hole and plant this branch, representing my new life without Lawrence.... And Louis
