Girl Next Door (Louis Fanfic)

Chapter Eighteen

November 4th, 2011

I guess when I saw Louis a year later I didn't expect it to be at my homecoming dance. And it won't be when I was dancing with my guy friend Taylor either. That certainly caused some controversy.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around, my knee length sea green silk dress swishing, and then staring into his endless eyes. I stumbled and quickly gained my balance.

"My god what are you doing here?" I whispered. In the time I hadn't seen him, the boys and him and come in third place on the x-factor, got signed by Simon Cowell, and released their new signal, What Makes You Beautiful. If any girl knew who this was, there was sure to be mayhem.

"What? I promised I would come when I was nine!" he grinned. I knew he was making it up. I punched his arm.

"Owww!?!" he yelled. I stumbled into his chest. The hot tears stung my eyes. He held me tight and kissed my head. My whole body trembled, my breath quickening, and my throat getting tight.

"I can't believe you're really here!" I whispered.

"I can't believe you're a legal adult. I laughed. I had turned eighteen a few months ago, receiving a check for $500 from Louis and the guys. Seemed pretty decent. And Louis would be twenty soon....

"Hey can we talk outside?" he asks. I nod and we walk outside. It's a crisp cold night, the stars shining brightly. It reminds of that exact night a year ago. We sit on a bench under a tree stringed with lights and a familiar tune plays in the background. I rest my hair head on Louis's shoulder when I see a curl pop out from behind a tree.

"Harry?" I ask sitting up.

"Uhh hey Erica!" he says emerging from the tree.

"NO HAROLD! YOU RUINED THE PLAN!" yells Louis. Harry grins sheepishly and then does a small gesture, the rest of the guys come out too.

"Oh my gosh!" I scream hugging all of them. Louis whispers something to Harry and he nods.

"Hey guys Louis wants us to get something. Erica we will be right back." Harry says. I pray they won't go inside cause that could lead to mayhem.

"Sorry about that! Any way you look brill tonight!" he grins. I laugh.

"As do you!" I grin back as they disappear.

"Okay so the guys and I are headed off to some places in Europe real soon to advertise our album and I was uh wondering if you wanted to come?"

"Louis of course I would!" I could just get tutored by someone (like my dad) on Skype or something.

"Oh and one last thing." Louis grins. He grabs my hands and slips something into it. I open them and it's the locket I got for my sixteenth birthday.

"Oh I thought I lost this thing!" I yell putting it around my neck.

"I found it on your driveway!"

****Epic Flashback****

My phone rings. I look at the number... Unknown

Me- Hello?

Unknown- Guess what carrot?!?

Me- Louis?

Unknown- Yeah guess what!

Me- What?

Louis- I got in! I'm gonna be on the X-Factor! We go back next month for boot camp.

Me- So... Does that mean you're coming back early (my heart rapidly beating)

Louis- Uhhh... Well

Me- Louis? What do you mean 'uuh well'

Louis- I'm staying here in London until boot camp. Mr. Cowell said I could hang at one of his apartments. It will be easier than coming back here then leaving again.

Me- ........

Louis- Hello you still there?

Me- .......

Louis- Line must have been cut off.

There was a click. Louis wasn't coming back. Not until... Well whenever, depending if he gets through to live shows. I pick up my songbook and fling it across the room.

"THIS ISN'T FAIR!" I scream. Good thing I'm home alone. I rip the locket off my neck and throw it out my open window.

***Epic Flashback over***

"Wonder how it got out there," I say not wanting him to know the truth behind it.

He grabs it and presses it clicking it open. On the inside is a picture of us holding hands and a note that says "I need that one thing! You got that One Thing. I love you." I smile.

"Erica will you be mine. My girlfriend." Louis asks. I nod.

"Of course." We lean in for a kiss but are interrupted when the boys come running out, a mob of girls close on their heels.

Sorry it's fairly short but I'm updating more frequently than usual. Make sure you vote and add to reading list.

I'm going to start getting super busy in a couple of weeks due to exams and much more. Hopefully it won't affect how often I write. I just wanted to say that it's not easy writing chapters but I have to plan everything out and then edit it several times. I'm also currently writing my two other fanfics; What is Love? And A Lost Hope.
