Erica's POV
I sit at my piano staring blankly at the sheet of music. Today was the last day of school. I'm now a junior. Oh goody. Louis graduated and in a few days he would be leaving to audition for the X Factor. And tomorrow I was leaving for a mission trip to Ireland with Kay. So today was the last day Louis and I had together for a long time. Oh and it was birthday too today.
I tap silently on my keys. I had gotten this piano for my birthday from my parents. From Louis... A locket. It wouldn't open so I didn't know what was inside. I was determined to find out. Speaking of Louis... Things haven't been the same since that night two years ago. We don't talk about every single thing like we used too. In fact... I haven't been to our tree since then. I wonder if it's still there...
Louis also has a girlfriend named Hannah. She's pretty. Like a gazillion times prettier than me. I'm also dating Lawrence Brown who would've dated Hannah if Louis hadn't asked him first.
I also got my first job writing songs for singers. Well more like Simon Cowell came over one day for dinner, and I was upstairs singing.
Simon came upstairs and asked if it was an original. It was. Soooo he asked me to write songs to give to his clients and I agreed.
My phone rings and a dive onto the floor and pick it up.
Me- Hello?
Louis- Hey Carrot
Me- What's up
Louis- I have one last gift for you.
Me- oh really?
Louis- yep I'll be over in a second.
Me- okay bye.
I hang up and walked to my piano and play my lasted song. I sing along to it as well.
Small town homecoming queen
She's the star in this scene
There's no way to deny she's lovely
Perfect skin, perfect hair
Perfumed hearts everywhere
Tell myself that inside she's ugly
Maybe I'm just jealous
I can't help but hate her
Secretly I wonder if my boyfriend wants to date her
She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands
She gets the top bunk I'm sleeping on the floor
She's Miss America and I'm just the girl next door
Senior class president
She must be heaven sent
She was never the last one standing
A backseat debutant
Everything that you want
Never too harsh or too demanding
Maybe I'll admit it
I'm a little bitter
Everybody loves her but I just wanna hit her
She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands
She gets the top bunk I'm sleeping on the floor
She's Miss America and I'm just the girl next door
Oh and I'm just the girl next door
I don't know why I'm feeling sorry for myself
I spend all my time wishing that I was someone else
She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands
I get a little bit, she gets a little more
She's Miss America and... she's Miss America
I'm just the girl next door...
I hear applause and turn around and fall out of my chair. It's Louis.
"Is that an original?" he asks
"Yep."
"Really catchy. Love the idea."
"Cause it's all true." I mutter under my breath
"You say something?"
"Nope."
"Well your gifts outside."
"Okay, I'll be down in a second." clearly indicting he should go downstairs. He does. I close my songbook and burst into tears. I sniffle and wipe my eyes. I really did love Louis.
