- KATERINA'S POV -

Miss Y/N was acting different, she had gone on a picnic with Miss Steinfeld but other than that, she had not seen the girl after.

She would still come to play at the house, Y/N would just leave the money on the piano and she would lock herself up in her office, she would take a break to have supper and then she would go back to her office, sometimes, when I was about to leave work, I saw Mrs. Arnett make her way to the mansion and go to Y/N's office, more times than others it would end up with Miss Y/N kicking Mrs.Elizabeth out of the house.

And when that would happen I just knew that she was going to be in a horrible mood the next day.

One night, I had forgotten my house keys at the mansion, so I came back and walked in on Mrs. Elizabeth and Miss Y/N kissing each other, I collected my key, and I left quietly, I went home thinking that perhaps I had mistaken things, but when I saw them act close and inappropriate time and time again, I decided to just quit my job.

" I don't understand, have I done something?" Y/N asked once I told her that I was resigning.

" Is it your pay? I can pay you more" she said and I shook my head.

" I don't feel comfortable working for you Miss Y/N"

" Why? " She asked concerned and I took a deep breath " your affair with a married and possibly pregnant woman goes against my morals, and I'm sorry but I can't stay here and act like I don't know about it"

" My affair with a Married Woman?"

" Mrs. Arnett"

She nodded slowly " well, Elizabeth is getting divorced, she hasn't seen her husband in weeks, I wouldn't be with a married woman, trust me, I do not like the idea of being unfaithful either"

I frowned " my apologies Miss, but that's not true"

" What do you mean? "

" Mrs. Arnett and her husband are still together, I saw them yesterday morning at the market, they were acting just as always, last night, before I went home, Mrs and Ms. Arnett were on the back porch talking about a nursery"

Y/N face turned stone cold and she hummed " is that so... Well, I did not know that, I will stop engaging with Mrs. Elizabeth, "

I played with my finger " what happen with Miss Hailee? She's a sweet girl, and she agrees with you and your lifestyle, I quite enjoyed seeing her with you, she made you smile"

Y/N looked at me amused '" I thought you didn't agree with my lifestyle, "

" I didn't, but I saw the way she made you happy, how you would talk and laugh over lunch and tea, and joke around her, and, I came to think, that you and her had the same kind of playfulness and companionship I have with my husband, and if someone makes someone happy, how can that be wrong"

" Are you telling me, that my friendship with Miss Hailee, made you change your points of view on homosexuality?"

I smiled " well, yes, I would still like for the two of you to come to church on Sunday and have a relationship with God, but I, I do like the relationship you have with each other, she made you happier, Mrs. Arnett seems to edge you and make you nervous and mad"

" She does, she's my temptation"

I nodded and looked at Y/N.

" I know you do not believe in God, but in the holy scriptures there's the story of the temptation of Jesus"

"In the scriptures Satan encouraged Jesus to deviate from the plan of his father by misusing his authority and privileges. Jesus used the Holy Scripture to resist all such temptations. It was a trial in which Jesus the man that had free will had to choose if he wanted to be faithful or not to God "

Y/N looked at me interested " how does that apply to me? "

" Mrs. Arnett tempts you with the idea of her, of her leaving her husband for you, to keep you from doing what you truly desire, to be wed and happy with a woman, you have to find a way to stay faithful to what you want, a way to keep away from Mrs. Arnett temptation, because at the end of the day Miss, she will always choose her husband over you, but the choice is your, if you want to lose time chasing after a woman you will never have, or let the idea of her go, and focus on a woman that is more than willed to risk it all for you "

Y/N thought about it and nodded slowly.
" Thank you Katerina, I will think about this, but as for your job position, don't leave, I have very few true friends and you just proved to me, that I need all the advice I can get, please stay, and I assure you I will have a proper conduct"

I nodded slowly " very well Miss Y/N, thank you for listening to me and trusting my advice"

She smiled and nodded and we started to talk about all the things that I needed to buy for the house, she ended up rising my salary and, she offered to pay for all of my kids' education as a sign of thankfulness for my advice.

Y/N was a sweet, kind woman, and I truly wished for her to find happiness with a woman that would make her happy.
