I had breakfast and looked out seeing a truck with a horse trailer pull up. As I walked out and down o the barn I saw Tate and dad watching a horse.

"That your's buddy."

"Yeah, grandpa just got me him. I named him Lucky."

"That's a good name He is lucky he has you." Tate smiled at me as I saw Rip approach with a wheel barrel full of hay. He tossed some over the fence looking at the horse.

"I think he'll do good for you."

"Thank you." Tate responded. "Aunt Lexi why are you in a dress, do you have a date" I giggled looking at him stealing a glance at Rip.

"No buddy no date, least not yet. I have to go by the office with your Aunt Beth and help her with something."

"Oh, I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too." I left with Beth to her office.

"Alexis, I told dad"

"Told dad what happened, Malcolm Beck threatening you"

"Why worry him, little blond bitch has no balls to come do anything to me, or to you."

"I just worry, you are my little sister Alexis. You are the one good and true thing in this fucked up family."

"Way to make me sound like the fuckin Virgin Mary"

"Oh you are far from that, Rip is proof of that."

"Funny."

"Saw him walking away from the house last night, he come by?"

"Yeah, we hung out stargazing on the roof and talking."

"Rip Wheeler, stargazing." She joked.

"Told him to come see me I was already up there he didn't have a choice"

"Yeah Lex he did, he could have not came but he did, for you; always does." I smiled at her as we worked on some papers.

"Hey I found a few more properties. Oh and Jason may have found a way around part of this development Jenkins has, I know Rainwater is trying to push him out but I have him still looking."

"You know for the ranch girl who was never into the office city life you sure as shit are good at it"

"Thanks."

"Daddy always did say there was nothing you couldn't do."

"Yeah there is."

"What's that."

"Not be scared of love."

"What."

"You heard me."

"You love him don't you?"

"I think I always have, just too stubborn to admit it."

"That's why you two work good together, stubborn as hell. He loves you too you know that right?"

"Makes you say that?"

"The way he looks at you. Even when he thinks no one is looking he looks at you like your the sun and he's seeing t for the first time. It's why everyone on that damn ranch knows you two are together."

"Maybe we are just fuck buddies."

"Not looking at each other like that you aren't." She stated grabbing her purse. "I'm gonna grab dinner."

"Don't buy food go home."

"What about you?"

"I leave here soon, you go rest and have a glass of wine and a bath. I can handle this for you"
