He then turned his horse coming up to me.

"This is fucking perfect" I said sarcastically.

"We'll handle it baby, always do."

"They bought Jenkin's place, that was fast." He noded as we made it to the little barn we were building down here closer to this side.

"Alright, let's go up to the big barn you're done, let's go." Rip said as we rode into the barn, well what would be it. It was coming along pretty good, to be honest. "Lloyd let's get them mules out of the field. Clean up that chuck wagon. We're running a spike camp this summer, understand?" Lloyd nodded grabbing Ethan and heading out.

"What's a spike camp?" Jimmy asked. Before he could answer Kayce found us.

"What's going on?"

"Providence hospitality, said they own land over the fence pretty sure it was Dan's, check with Beth and see what she knows, thy are talking about a goddamn resort, we don't need that at the back of our fence." He nodded agreeing with me.

"Clover?"

"No but we're gonna spike camp this summer and babysit them with the wagon."

"That's actually a good idea."

"Wasnt mine." I said nodding over at Rip. I spent the night at Rip's, quiet evening, few drinks on the porch. Until he made me go to bed knowing we had to get up early. He laid with me for a bit.

"You going with us?"

"Yea."

"Alright, I gotta go check on the dumbasses." He kissed my head leaving as I feel asleep. The next morning he woke me up. I got dressed and took a jacket for if I got cold. I was surprised when I saw Tate with Kayce.

"You going camping buddy?"

"Yeah." He gave me a light smile and I looked at Kayce Dad went to get on his horse but stopped o talk to Jamie

"Kayce, Lexi, Rip take the wrangles start pushing the heard, we'll be right behind you." We made sure everyone was getting settled at the ranch when dad looked at me "Alexis"

"Yes sir.

"Go with Rip, head back to the ranch. Can you guys handle it?" I chuckled looking at dad

"You told me long ago not to answer stupid questions daddy" He smiled shaking his head as Rip chuckled

"That I did. Take care of my girl Rip."

"With my life." We headed home and as we got closer I looked over at him.

"Getting some clothes and a shower." He nodded.

"Give me him, I can get him settled." I handed Knight over to him going to the house and taking a shower. I tossed on a simple summer dress that had a couple of straps on the back and that was it. Beth had gotten me it, telling me it would look good and I needed to wear something other than denim every day. I grabbed a bottle of whiskey and a shot glass walking out the door. I took a few shots as I walked to Rips. I knocked on the door wondering if he would answer since the lights were off. I turned smiling as he answered it clad in jeans and a black shirt that was unbuttoned to where the top of his white undershirt peeking out. One hand on the door and the other on his dor frame.

"Ya know houses need to be christened." I said as I poured a shot. Rip smiled making that yeah face.

"Well, thought's crossed my mind."

"To your new house." I said raising the glass and taking the shot. I walked towards him poring another shot as I held it out to him.

"Thank you." He said reaching for it but I pulled it back with a playful smirk
