"How's that going?" I looked over at Beth as she drove."Good." I said smiling. Beth looked at me with a smile on her face. "Must be, haven't seen you in the house in awhile. I mean I know I got a lot going on but haven't seen you at all."
"Yeah, I been at the other house."
"The one daddy gave him."
"Mhmm."
"So you're living together." I looked over at Beth, not really sure what to say. Would Rip be mad if I told her, we hadn't talked about saying anything to anyone so far only us and daddy knew.
"Yeah, we are."
"How's that, you look happy, living together is pretty serious."
"I know, we're pretty serious Beth."
"You think he'll ask you to marry him? What would you say."
"Yes." I didn't care being in this room full of suits, I never trust Jamie, only trusted the governor cause of dad. Only person in the room I trusted was dad and I stayed right by him. He held my hand right now, keeping me calm. I looked up at him and a soft gentle smile crossed his face.
"Thank you." I mouthed. He nodded at me a soft squeeze on my hand.
"If you want to discuss Yellowstone you have to take it up with me."
"Actually he has to with me and Alexis we have power of attorney."
"If it was Utah, but this is Montana, you filed in Utah."
"If she were an attorney she'd know that." I went to speak but dad squeezed my hand to make me be quiet. I had went around everyone and filed the other day in Montana. I had only told daddy I did it and apparently he wanted to keep it that way, see what shit Jamie was about to spew. "Currently speaking I am the legal authority of Yellowstone and I approve the sale of that tract."
"The hell you will." Dad said speaking up.
"I will because if I don't the land commission will condemn it and you will get paid one-tenth of what it's worth. Not really the legacy you want your precious little princess next to you to inherit." I smiled, he just played his hand, wanting to fuck us in the end and only think of himself, typical but he also gave me exactly what I needed as my other hand was on a recorder in my pocket. This would cost him everything and I would make sure of it. He didn't research properly, didn't know it was first Utah but I did it in Montana so he was illegally trying to sell my property and I could have all their asses sue them all and make sure Jamie was kicked out as AG and disbarred. "You will lose millions is legal fees because I can't represent the state and the ranch."
"Then don't condemn it."
"It's not my choice, it's her choice." He said motioning to the governor.
"It's your choice, what do you choose Lynelle?" Dad asked eyes only on Jamie.
"There's no choice anymore John. There are only options."
"I want to see the environmental impact report?" I as well." He said looking at me.
said speaking up. Thomas Rainwater and his attorney looking at me, a smirk crossing her face as she nodded. No one expected me to say it.
"She is correct I would like to see that as well."
"The forest report-"
"Not the forest report." He replied. "The U.S Fish and Wildlife report on the impact of an airport beside the river that feeds our oldest national park. The one beside runway one."
