I saw my horse was gone when I got to the arena I had to deal with Travis today

"Hey you assholes see my horse?"

" Was gone when we got here." I saw Knight in his stall so I guess Alexis took him I walked up hearing Travis say he sold his Derby winner.

"You sold that horse. You out of your fucking mind, Travis"

"Brother, my goal is to leave every horse show with an empty trailer. Had Andy Masci make you something "He said pointing behind me I looked at the horse seeing a modified saddle on it

"Oh yeah? What's that for?"

"Little wedding present."

"How'd you figure that out motherfucker"

"I'm a horse trainer brother. When a woman goes off the market I get a fucking email." I laughed at his response. Looking up I saw three riders coming in, John, Kayce and Alexis."

"Um found yer horse Rip."

"No shit." I said looking at Teeter. I walked up to them "Teeter grab these horses. Did Doc say it's okay for you to be riding?" I asked looking at John. "And you, you stole my horse honey."

"Well considering we're getting married what's mine is yours and what's yours is mine." I laughed smiling at her.

"Ok darling."

"And as far as dad, he didn't ask just did what he wanted, then he wonders where I got it from." We all laughed. They got off the horses and Lexi kissed my cheek. I could see she had been crying, even with sunglasses on. I looked up at Kayce and he shook his head mouthing later. We watched Travis working.

"Goddam he gets the livestock doesn't he?" Kayce said.

"Yeah." I looked at Lexi when her phone rang.

"Yeah, what? The fuck do you mean?" She said turning and looking up at the lodge. "Goddammit, I'll be there in a fucking minute." She hung up as we looked at her.

"Everything ok honey" John asked

"What's wrong?"

"I'll see you later, and baby I'm taking your horse again." She kissed me before walking off and hopping up on my horse and running him up the hill.

"Well I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that and not get punched."

"Fuck off Kayce." I said looking at him

ALEXIS POV

Getting to the main house I saw Beth and the sheriff standing by his truck. I hopped off Cole and held his lead.

"So what the fuck is going on?" I asked looking at her.

"Um remember that kid from the hospital?"

"Yeah." Beth opened the door to the truck and I saw the kid. She then slammed it.

"He said we were his guardians?"

"The fuck?"

" Yeah, that or foster care and he don't stand a chance." I sighed looking at the kid.

"Remind you of anyone?" I asked softly.

"Yeah, your fucking fiance. Lex as much as I hate this he needs us."

"Beth Rip ain't gonna take to this."

"He just might, if anyone can get him to do that it's you."

"Goddammit, you fucking owe me."
