Breaking in
CLEO WAS READY TO GET INTO COBRA KAI with her girlfriend. She had swiped her keys from Kreese a few hours before, the man having had a temper tantrum earlier on in the day for god knows what. So, here they were, hectically running around the parking lot with all black outfits on.
It felt like a fun spy mission, and it was rare the Harper girl ever had fun.
"Quiet, what if we get caught?" She whispered as they hid behind a car, looking through the dojo window to see if Johnny was still there.
"Make me." Tory grinned widely, opening her mouth to scream. "Ah—"
Cleo quickly grabbed her, cupping her hand quickly over the girls mouth before she could let out any noise. The girl then let out a sigh of relief, until she felt a layer of wetness all over her hand. She cringed in disgust, dramatically falling backward as her girlfriend began to laugh.
"Did you lick me?" The Harper girl whisper yelled, wiping her hands off onto her pants.
"You had your hand on my mouth." Tory defended with a shrug, standing up straight. "I'm pretty sure the coast is clear."
"Wait for me." Cleo nervously got up to her feet, catching up to the blonde before they took each others hands. "I hope you know we have to put everything back where we found it when we get done."
"Are you always so... wound up?" The Nichols girl watched as she fumbled with the keys, finally unlocking the door as a simple ding signified their arrival.
They both walked in, and the Harper girl locked the door behind them, making sure not to turn on any of the lights.
"Yes, because it keeps me out of trouble." Cleo lightly shrugged her shoulders as she took off her jacket, placing it neatly in the corner of the room. "I have never been grounded in my life, and going to jail for breaking and entering doesn't sound fun."
"So you'd risk getting in trouble for me?" Tory raised an amused brow at that, a smile never leaving her face.
It was something the girl had quickly realized but, the confirmation was amazing too if she was honest, and she usually was.
Instead of answering, Cleo wore a goofy look on her face as she began to dance, ushering the blonde over to her. Avoiding her feelings had been a constant in her life, and she really just felt more comfortable doing so. It gave a sense of security that if the Nichols girl left her, she'd be okay because she didn't open up.
... but honestly, it would still devastate her.
"Way to avoid a question." Tory noted, her hands snaking around her girlfriends waste to hold her still. "Are we going to spar, or not?"
"Yup." Cleo nodded her head as she smiled, the girl pushing the blonde backward to begin the fight.
"Game on." The Nichols girl spoke, running at her with her fist drawn back.
The Harper girl dodged the hit, and sent a kick the other girls way that made her stumble back ever so slightly. Then, she swept the girls leg, making her fall to the ground. Tory didn't give up though, and used her force to push herself up and off the ground, delivering a hit to her girlfriends chest.
"You're getting better." Cleo noted, smiling proudly at the girl she cared about.
That didn't mean she was just gonna let her win, she was far too competitive for that to happen.
"You noticed." Tory threw a punch, which her girlfriend then again dodged, both of them taking turns repeating the same motion again, and again.
Eventually they ended up making their way towards the wall, Cleo making sure her back wasn't facing the flat surface before she pushed the Nichols girl into it.
"I win." She spoke softly, looking into the girls eyes.
Their lips collided immediately after, both of them forgetting whatever else was going on in their own little worlds.
IT WAS AROUND 10pm WHEN CLEO FINALLY MADE it home, which is probably the latest she had been out in her life. All her years on this earth were filled with structure, plans, discipline, and for once, she felt like she wasn't bound to that painfully boring life. Although, she was scared the initial high of being in a relationship would fade, not for her, but for Tory.
Then she would end up just like her dad.
"Want to explain to me where the hell you were?" Jack Harper turned the living room light on, both him and Kreese sitting on chairs on opposite sides of the room. "We've been calling you all night."
"Jesus Christ, you scared me!" Cleo held her hand on top of her heart as she shut the door behind her, leaning on it for some form of support. "I was with some friends."
"... and you didn't think to call?" Kreese questioned, making the teen girl sigh.
"My phone died, okay? Why were you guys calling me, anyways?" The Harper girls heart raced as she thought about the set of keys sitting there in her book bag, waiting to be found.
She didn't even want to know what the consequences would be if they were found.
"Your little sensei decided to fire him today." Jack explained, throwing his hands in the air.
He wasn't exactly finished with the topic of her coming home late but, he knew there was more important matters to discuss in that moment.
"What?" Cleo's jaws completely dropped at that, never did she think in a million years someone would call her grandfather out on his bullshit.
"Johnny wasn't exactly happy at how things went in Coyote Creek." Kreese shrugged lightly, not showing a care that his plan was rather slowly crashing and burning right in front of him. "That doesn't change things."
"How does it not? You can't even get into the dojo anymore." The Harper girl shook her head, feeling as though her months of hard work had gone through the drain.
She didn't think about how many friends she had made, or about the fact that doing this helped her find a girlfriend. All she was thinking about was losing. Know the most annoying thing about losing?
That pesky feeling in your head telling you that if you tried harder, you might have reached your goal.
"You both look worried, I don't want you to be. Let me handle it, like I always handle it." Kreese tried to reassure them as he got up to his feet, Jack and Cleo both exchanging unknowing looks.
... because that sounded fairly ominous.
