“A 17 year old girl from South Korea who goes by the name Lee Youngjae went missing along with two other people, Lee Minyoung, 47 years old, and Lee Heeseung, 18 years old, two weeks ago. Earlier today, the body of Lee Minyoung was discovered in the middle of the woods—”

“Oh, I wonder what happened,” my mother spoke up in the middle of the report, making me groan, “Mom, I'm trying to listen here.”

“The cops believe that Lee Minyoung was attacked by an unknown creature while the two teenagers were chased and pushed into the nearby river from where the latter's corpse was found. The bodies of Lee Youngjae and Lee Heeseung are not yet found and are still in—”

“Stop watching those stuff, Emma. They sound ridiculous,” my father walked along and turned off the television.

I exhaled out of frustration and shifted my gaze at him, “Oh, so you're allowed to watch predators chasing and catching preys but I'm not allowed to watch the news?”

“Those are just fake news. It doesn't make sense unlike predators catching preys,” he sat down on the couch.

I snickered before standing up to leave for my room. I instantly locked the door before settling down in front of the computer to do more research. If the investigators can't tell the specific creature, I'll make sure I will.

“Lee Youngjae...huh, she has a clear and perfect record of herself. Nothing suspicious about her,” I muttered to myself.

“Lee Youngbin, her brother...died?” I furrowed my brows before searching for more information about his death.

“Committed suicide...” I blankly stared at the screen as I immediately thought of different reasons to do such stuff.

I shook away the thoughts and continued to go through the other two persons.

“Mother and son, huh? Makes sense,” I smirked until I spotted something strange.

There was no record of any of their relatives, just the late father and that was it. “Now this is what I'm looking for,” I snickered before taking out a notebook.

Since there is no way I can trace down the two suspects, the best way I can get clues about them would be from Youngjae's friends...it would be too messy if I reach up to the parents first.

I jotted down some information about the three before turning back to the computer to find ways on how I could talk to Youngjae's friends. This is going to be hard since we're not in the same country. I sighed.

Park Sunghoon, that's one. I hurriedly wrote down his name before watching the news reporter ask him some questions. I groaned as soon as I realised I didn't turn on the subtitles.

What was your relationship with Youngjae?” The reporter asked.

The fair lad took his time before answering, “We were good friends. But it feels like our friendship broke into pieces after we— I got mad at her just the day before she went missing.

Were you also good friends with Heeseung?

He remained silent for a long time, “Not really. He was just my senior. We often hung out and talked but that's it.

Did you happen to notice something suspicious going on with or between the two?

No, but Youngjae kind of despised Heeseung. She hesitated to speak to him every time he was around.

So, you mentioned that you got mad at her the day before she went missing. Could you tell me what topic it was about?

Uh, I'm not sure if the others will be okay with it but...there was a breakup,” he laughed nervously in the middle, “It included a good friend of mine so I got kind of mad at her for it.
