Heeseung widened his eyes, "Do you know me?"

I nodded vigorously before speaking, stumbling with my words, "I-I've been keeping up with the reports about you and Young-"

He instantly put a finger on my lips and shushed me, "Alright, you won't want me to be discovered by other people who know me now, will you?"

I reluctantly nodded my head and he took a quick glance at my whole body before putting his finger away.

"I guess you're my junior from the uniform you're wearing," he spoke.

"Yeah, I took the entrance exam so that I would hopefully get in and find more clues about you," I laughed awkwardly in the middle, "H-How's Youngjae doing?"

Heeseung merely shook his head, "I'm sorry but I can't tell you that. You should also forget about seeing me here...don't tell anyone about today or else I'll make you regret it."

I kept my mouth shut when Jay's voice rang out. Heeseung turned his head in surprise before looking at me, "It was a pleasure to meet you today and please, stay safe." With that, he disappeared into thin air.

"Emma! There you are, I forgot to give you back the book you gave me, back in the coffeehouse," Jay caught up with me, panting with a book in hand.

"Oh, thanks," I spoke and took the book.

"Any weird encounter yet?" He asked.

"No...not yet. Hey, I think it would be the best if you walk me home instead," I grinned sheepishly.

Jay frowned, "You said that you were okay alone just a few minutes ago but alright. Suddenly got scared?"

"Kind of," I chuckled as we walked off together, not mentioning a single thing about Heeseung on the way.

I rushed inside my room as soon as I shut and locked the front door. I dropped my bag on my bed before sitting in front of my laptop. I'm sure other people have bumped onto him somewhere, I can't be the only one who he has saved.

But there was no article related to him being seen saving people from danger. Maybe he really meant it when he said I'd regret it if I told anyone about it. I pressed my lips together as I thought back to the moment he faced me.

I must have expected a bit too much from Jake to mistake Heeseung as him. Heeseung looks a lot better in person than in the pictures they uploaded in the internet. I bit the bottom of my lips as I looked out the window.

Heeseung not wanting to talk about Youngjae makes me even more curious. Could she really be dead? Or is she held captive by Heeseung? Is she tortured or is she living a peaceful life with him? I furrowed my brows as I thought deeper.

I released a breath before grabbing my drawing book and sketching Heeseung like the way I saw him that day, not even bothering to change my clothes or clean up first.

He looked different but it was still easy for me to notice who he was. Could he be actually one of them? His skin was a lot fairer than in the pictures, and his canines were sharp, just like a vampire's. But he still seems to look a bit more human...

And he scared away that man so easily. There's a high possibility that he's also a bloodsucker. I gulped as I finished sketching and threw the pencil on the table. I sighed and rubbed my face with both my hands. Why is this so tough and exhausting? Only if I could tell someone about this.

I stared at it for a good minute before I stood up to head to the bathroom and take a shower. Hopefully, I'll have the chance to meet him again, soon.

"You'll be able to pick me up today, right?" I asked Chris the next morning as he dropped me off.

"Of course. Are you that scared to walk home now?" He laughed.

"Yes, yesterday was a mess. I was lucky my friend walked me home. I never asked, did you have a good time with your parents yesterday?"

"Yeah and also no. They won't stop nagging at me. They just won't allow me to live peacefully," he chuckled.

"I feel you. You know my parents call me five times a day just to check on how I'm doing," I snickered while shaking my head.

"Haha, well, we should be glad that we still have parents to care and worry about us, I guess."

"You're right. Okay, I'll see you after school," I spoke before getting out from the car.

I exhaled as I made my way into the building. I just hope nothing weird happens today.

Jake laughed to himself as he sat on his chair, alone in his spacious and tidy room. He still couldn't understand his father's words and what he said about Emma. Only he cared about was Youngjae and that was it.

'Never let her go'? Why would I even hold on to her? People should stop talking in riddles. So what if he met Emma while we were younger? This makes no sense. He continued to laugh out of confusion.

He swallowed the lump in his throat as soon as he remembered the way he reacted on the first day he met Emma. He shook his head and held onto his head with both his hands.

But why am I always on the brink of losing my sanity every time I lay my eyes on her? He sighed and leaned back on his chair. I'll have to keep my distance from her if I don't want to show my true colours during school hours.

Sunghoon sat next to Jake during lunch while the others were sitting at another table. There was a brief moment of silence before Sunghoon spoke up.

"You haven't talked to the new girl today, not to mention that you haven't even looked at her. Did something happen?" He asked.

Jake merely shook his head and remained silent. Sunghoon furrowed his brows and thought for a moment before speaking again.

"I don't know if it's just me but she looks like she's trying to be Youngjae," he sneered and Jake looked at him.

"Huh, that must be the reason why you hate her," he finally spoke.

Sunghoon scoffed, "Hate is a strong word, but yes. She pisses me off with her actions and her continuous stares. She's trying so hard."

Jake laughed, "Well, she managed to pull Jay. That guy is head over heels."

"He's blind when it comes to love," Sunghoon shook his head and continued to have his lunch.

Jake glanced at Emma and the others and then turned to Sunghoon with a small smile on his face, "Maybe she just reminds you of Youngjae..."

"Not at all. She's so different from Youngjae, but she's still trying to be her," Sunghoon cringed.

Jake chuckled as he had already looked into Sunghoon's thoughts. His best friend had also seen the similarities between Youngjae and Emma but was too much in denial to accept it. It wasn't just me after all, now everything kind of makes sense.
