Jungwon and Riki headed off to the boys' restroom, leaving me and Sunoo to finally have some bonding time or private conversation.
"I noticed how you've been distancing yourself from Jake and the others," I started, not to make things awkward.
"Oh, that's...well," Sunoo chuckled in embarrassment, visibly lost on how he should respond to my words.
"I'm not trying to force you to say anything about it or to make an excuse but...if it's about me, feel free to tell me anything that makes you uncomfortable when you're around me," I spoke bluntly.
"No, no. It's not about you. It's about a good friend of ours, actually," he forced to pull up a smile.
"Youngjae? I suppose?"
"No- although a little part of it includes her but no. It's Heeseung. Do you know him too?"
I nodded, "Jay told me everything about those two. Not to mention how you started ignoring them after the promotional exams."
Sunoo grew bright red out of guilt and embarassment, "Ah, I wasn't "ignoring" them. I was just being...aware, of something."
I raised a brow, "So, you're saying that you're not hanging out with them anymore because you're aware of something which probably includes Heeseung in it...?"
"Wow, you connected the dots right away, huh?" He released a breath, "Yeah, that's true. I feel bad for shutting them out so suddenly, but I felt it was the right thing to do."
"Now that clears things up. May I ask why?"
"No...I believe I can't tell you that, sorry."
"Oh?" I instantly came up with an assumption, "Why not?"
"I'm afraid that you would get in trouble with me...because of me, if I told you about it," he smiled sheepishly.
I merely nodded and cleared my throat as I hesitated to speak up again. "Did someone come up and save you from a possible danger?" I asked without looking at him.
"Were you too?" He asked in surprise.
I looked at him and nodded once again, "I was making my way home from the coffeehouse near Jay's place, I reached the eerie alleyway when he turned up to help me dodge the attack."
Sunoo covered his mouth before he could gasp, and whispered, "That was the same thing that happened to me. Well, except for the fact that he brought me somewhere safer in a blink of an eye- wait, are we allowed to tell each other these?"
I browsed around and looked back at him with a shrug, "We both know anyway, there shouldn't be any problem with it, right?"
"That's what I'm thinking about."
"Hopefully he doesn't do anything. Because I just want to know what he told you. Did he tell you anything?"
He thought for a while, clearly hesitating to answer me, "We had a pretty long conversation but I don't know if they have anything to do with you."
"Ah...it's alright if you don't want to share it with me. Sometimes my curiousity make me very insensitive," I laughed nervously and looked down.
"It's okay, I understand," he smiled, "I know how you feel. I was just like you before he came and cleared all my doubts that day."
That must mean that he knows everything about it now. But I just can't plead or force him to tell me what he knows. I furrowed my brows.
"Did you two have a proper conversation while we were gone?" Jungwon questioned with a smile on his face.
