“Emma, your parents called and said that you can't answer their calls. Is there something wrong?” Chris knocked on Emma's door as he spoke.

“Emma?” He called out her name a few times before deciding to open the door, feeling uneasy after getting no response from her.

There was no sign of Emma inside the room and everything seemed to be normal in there. He carefully checked around the room to make sure she wasn't hiding somewhere to pull a prank on him.

“Okay, Emma, you win, you can come out from wherever you're hiding now,” he spoke, just to be left with no response once again.

He eventually walked towards her table and picked up the paper with her handwriting on it. Did she write this and left it here for me to see?

Dear Christopher, you're probably wondering where the hell I am by the time you're reading this. I've decided to do what I want this time. Don't worry, I'm doing perfectly fine right now. I would appreciate it a lot if you could send this letter to my parents back in Melbourne. And please, leave this country as soon as possible before it's too late. Don't ever come back, well, until the officials have confirmed that these monsters are taken care of. And please don't bother filing a missing report. They'll never be able to find me anyway, so don't bother tiring out the rescue team. You should take good care of yourself in the time being. Thank you for everything.

Dear mother and father, I apologise for all the inconveniences I've caused. But I assure you that there'll be none of them after this. I don't want you to blame Chris for this because he has nothing to do with this. He was just like an elder brother to me, always telling me what to do and what not to do and never has he encouraged me to waste my time on the useless things I'm into. This is all my fault but in no way do I feel bad about it. I knew what I wanted so I simply went towards it. Please, don't come over here to search for me as it is extremely dangerous for you two. I badly want you to be safe from whatever's happening in here. I just want to say that I'm in good hands and I'll always be watching over you two from where I am. I'm really grateful for all the things you've done for me, I sincerely love you two the most.

Chris began to panic as he rushed out from the room to get his phone and called Emma's parents immediately.

Meanwhile, Jake and his mother were calmly watching Chris from afar and Emma and Jake's father were conversing in their lounge.

“Should we do something about him? He's definitely not going to follow what she wrote,” Jake spoke to his mother while he watched Chris informing Emma's parents about what he discovered through the phone, “Same goes to her parents,” he added.

His mother hummed before snapping her fingers, “That'll do.”

Jake turned to her in confusion, “What was that?”

She merely grinned at him, “It's just a thing I learned a few weeks ago.”

“And that is?”

“Controlling minds, I'm getting used to it now.”

“Oh, I see...” Jake exclaimed as he nodded before suddenly turning his head to Emma and then back at his mother, “Wait, what—”
