I excused myself as I cautiously pulled my hands away from them, "I'm...just gonna go."

I winced as soon as I turned a corner, still feeling a bit awkward. That was only when I remembered I hadn't thanked Jake yet. I slapped my forehead and walked in the room.

I sat down and it took a few minutes for Jay and Jake to walk in along with the teacher. I gulped and avoided eye contact with Jay as I looked down at my book.

Jay and I awkwardly walked beside each other as we made our way out from the building after school. Jungwon was waiting for us near the gate as he waved energetically at us.

I merely smiled at him and continued to walk towards him with Jay. I shifted my bag to the side as I discreetly took out the plushie and stuffed it into his bag.

"Thank you so much, Emma," Jungwon thanked me for the nth time that day, making me grin.

"Don't mention it, it's nothing big. You should come over to my house if you want to see more of them. I'll give you more for free."

Jungwon's jaw dropped and he nodded, "I will definitely come and visit later. Anything for free toys."

I chuckled before I noticed a familiar car and I waved at the two of them in a hurry, "I need to get going now. I'll see you tomorrow."

They both nodded before I dashed to the car and got in.

"I heard about the incident in your school. Is everything okay?" Chris immediately asked as soon as I got in.

"Oh, yeah, that. Yeah, it's all okay. But I think one of our schoolmates got attacked. Besides that, everyone is okay. They got rid of the infected girl and brought the injured to the hospital," I spoke, recalling the past incident I had almost forgotten because of Jay and Jake.

"What about you? Are you okay? Where were you when it happened? Did you happen to see the infected girl?" He asked a bunch of questions at once.

"I...was in the restroom when it happened. The girl unfortunately came in there as well to "hide"-"

"Really?! What did she do?!"

"Keep it down. She didn't do anything. She tried but a...friend of mine luckily came along and stopped her before she could actually do any harm to me. I tried to thank him but I haven't had the chance yet."

"Oh, it's a 'he'?"

"Okay but the fact that you ignored my story and focused on my friend's pronouns is really hilarious," I snickered.

"I'm not going to lie, I would've been more impressed if it was a girl. Anyway, that was brave of him."

"I know. I was gonna thank him after school but he disappeared right after he stepped out from the class. I had one more question to ask him."

Chris merely nodded and kept his eyes on the road, "Have you thought about switching schools?"

"What?" I looked at him in disbelief, "No."

He released a breath, "Your school is the only school who had an infected student there."

I scoffed, "So what?"

"You know I'm worried about you."

"Gosh, it was only one student. Overthinking is not good for your health," I sneered.

"I can't risk getting scolded by your parents if you get hurt," Chris stated.

I rolled my eyes at his words, "Just put the blame on me. Tell them that I didn't want to switch schools or something so that they won't yell at you for it."

"You're an only child, Emma. They would still put the blame on me for not being able to even take care of one teenager."

"I can take care of myself," I folded my arms, "Did they tell you to make me switch schools?"

"No. But they would want you to if they heard about the news. You're lucky these type of news aren't really shown in other countries."

"Whatever..." I mumbled.

Jake was still having his lunch when a girl screamed in terror from the corner of the cafeteria, catching everyone's attention.

On top of the girl was a student, who seemed to be biting the girl's neck. Jake's eyes widened at the view as he instantly lost his appetite. How did an infected student come to school?

Some of the students were laughing and mocking the position the girls were in as they recorded it with their phones, not knowing what was really happening to the poor girl.

It was when the infected student looked up and revealed the terrifying bite mark she had left on the other girl's neck with blood all over the table that they started panicking.

The girl looked around, trembling, and decided that she had to hide before she got caught. The students cleared the path out of fear as she ran off. Jake sighed in frustration before running after her. He stopped as soon as he saw her running into the girl's restroom.

He could sense that Emma was in there too so he hurriedly ran back to the cafeteria since he was the only one who knew and saw where the infected student had hid. The troubled teachers and students immediately ran off after hearing the information from him.

They won't notice, will they? He stood and waited for a moment and disappeared into thin air while the others weren't looking, teleporting himself into the girl's restroom before Emma could get hurt.

Jake watched as Emma walked away. Jay slightly turned his head before turning back to Jake, "What's with you?"

"Nothing. What's with you? You made her feel uncomfortable when you laid your hand on her," Jake spoke back nonchalantly.

Jay scoffed, "You were the one who decided to pop out of nowhere and act like you care after ignoring her for the past two days."

Jake folded his arms and tilted his head a bit while his tongue poked his right inner cheek.

"Don't make me hit you like I did to Sunghoon," he spoke softly.

Jay merely glared at him when the teacher walked along and motioned them to go to their class.
