[10] ᴛʜᴇ ᴅɪɴɪɴɢ ʜᴀʟʟ

The principal came in the room and walked up to them with a smile. Alexis and Lando were scared that she found out about them combining their abilities, which apparently wasn't the reason she was there.

"Hey guys, I see that you're both here which is great, because I have really good news!" she said. "W-what is it?" Alexis asked in a scared way. "Apparently, the creature you guys told me about was already dead when we found it." she said. "Oh, that's good indeed. But are you sure that there aren't more of them?" Lando asked.

"We don't know, that's why me and some colleagues are gonna inspect the forest until we're through it all. I think that that's gonna take some time though since it's quite big, but I promise you everything will be okay." she smiled. "That's great! I mean- it's good that you're gonna do that." Alexis said.

"Mhm, there's also something we always see again. It's some kind of purple dust, we're not sure what it is though. It looks like 2 abilities combined, but it could also be from the creature. That's what we're trying to find out, apart from the creature itself." she said and showed them a photo on her phone of the purple dust.

"Ehe- it'll probably be from the creature. Combining abilities isn't allowed, right." Lando and Alexis said nervously. "That's true, but I won't make it such a big deal if it's used to protect yourself from something that's life depending." she said and shrugged her shoulders. "R-really?" Alexis asked which made Lando hit her with his elbow softly.

"I mean, of course it won't be that punishable then." Alexis corrected herself. "Mhm, but there'll still be a warning of course. Anyway, that's what I wanted to say so... are you guys coming for dinner? It'll be ready in like half an hour." she said. "Okay, see you later then!" they said and waved as the principal did the same and left the room.

"That was SO close! I thought she found out about our secret for a second!" Alexis said as she turned to Lando who was sitting next to her to sit right in front of him. "I know right! I thought she came here to expel us or something." Lando said. "Also, she said that it'll take about a week or so before they know what the dust is!" Alexis said.

"That's true, I was scared about that for a second." Lando said. "I'm kinda hungry, wanna go downstairs to the dining hall?" Alexis asked. "Sure yeah, but do you think we're allowed to sit together since we're in a different grade?" Lando asked. "Well, we are if no one finds out about it." Alexis smiled playfully.

"You're always so manipulative and sneaky, aren't you." Lando laughed. "Yeah, a lot of people tell me that." Alexis said as they got up from the bed.

They left Alexis' dormitory and walked over to the elevator to go downstairs. As the doors of the elevator opened, they stepped out and walked over to the dining hall which was somewhere further in the hallway. They saw flyers hanging all over the walls that said that there was gonna be a Christmas party.

"So we are gonna have a Christmas party and we don't even have to organize it, wow! That's just cool, not gonna lie." Alexis said. "It's in 5 days, then it's also Christmas." Lando said. "Oh my god, there's even gonna be some kind of prom event!" Alexis said. "Oh god no, what I remember of that is just so weird." Lando laughed.

"Huh, what is it then?" Alexis asked. "I'll tell you, but let's go get something to eat and then find a place to sit." Lando nodded to the large buffet table somewhere next to the tables where everyone was sitting. "Alright then, I actually feel like having chicken today." Alexis said as they walked over to the buffet table.

As they chose their food, they turned around to face the tables and looked for a place to sit. The usual was that every grade would sit at a different table, each in different groups to separate the classes. But no one really followed that rule anymore so they'd changed the tables and placed all separate tables of maximum 6 people.

"Wait, they'd change the tables? I thought there were grade and class tables just then?" Alexis said confused. "Apparently they'd change that, which is quite good!" Lando smiled. "It is! Now let's go find a table so you can tell me your story." Alexis smiled playfully. "Oh my god-" Lando laughed as they looked for a table.
