Chapter 5

James POV

Why am I so nervous? Lily should be here any minute. The first time she said yes to me. I'm wearing a big coat and some old comfy jeans- it's so bloody cold outside! Okay, calm down. I shove my hands in my jeans pockets.

"Hey! You ready?" Lily comes up behind me and smiles. She seems so... not nervous.

"Let's go." We start walking and she links arms around my big puffa coat. Is she really linking arms with me?

"So where are we going first?" She asks me. I don't know. Okay, improvise.

"Three broomsticks? Want a ButterBeer?" Okay I pulled that off quite smoothly.

"Sure lets go!" She steers me around into the direction of the three broomsticks. I shall pray to God that this goes well.

We get into the three broomsticks and sit down opposite each other. "Two ButterBeers please?"

Whilst we wait on the drinks, Lily makes conversation.

"So how was your summer holiday, James?"

"Yeah, Padfoot was having some trouble with his family so he moved in with us this summer." Padfoot? Shoot! I've dropped myself in it.

"Padfoot? Who's Padfoot?" She laughs.

"It's Sirius. Sirius Black? You know him?" OF COURSE SHE KNOWS HIM JAMES STOP BEING SO BLOODY AWKWARD.

"James," she giggles "By any chance, are you nervous? Because Sirius is in the same year as me."

"If I did say I was nervous, would you laugh?" I. Don't. Want. To. Lie.

"We will come to that when it happens." She smiled. I guess I couldn't embarrass myself anymore.

"Then just a little." I say, so quietly I don't think she heard it.

"It's okay." She doesn't even laugh. She just smiled at me. Is it okay for a boy to get those tummy butterflies?

The ButterBeers arrive. I take a sip and she starts laughing, she puts her finger above her lip and I realise. I wipe my mouth with my sleeve and start laughing too. It feels so right. God I want it tell her so much that I like her. Not just a crush anymore.

We went in a couple of other places and it got really late.

"So I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Okay. I had a nice time, thanks." She smiled, she leaned up and kissed my cheek. SHE KISSED MY CHEEK. I am SO happy.

"I'll see you tomorrow!" She called, and ran off. I'm ecstatic. I need to find Padfoot.

I rush back to the castle and find Padfoot by the black lake.

"PADFOOT!" I jump on him.

"Arggg Prongs! What's wrong!"

"LILY KISSED MY CHEEK!"

"SHUT UP."

"She did! We had such a good time. And she kissed my cheek!" My heart is beating so fast I'm so happy.

"Well. Good day for both of us. Cause I got myself a new lady."

"Who?" I hope it's who I think it is.

"Autumn!" He's liked her for ages. I'm so happy for him.

"Congrats mate. You've liked her for ages."

"I know." We lead down on the grass.

Lily POV

Sitting on my bed, reading a book after a wonderful day. I mean, I kissed him! I actually kissed him! I haven't told the girls yet. I don't know when I will tell them, just... not yet.

Suddenly Autumn burst through the door, and slammed it behind her "LILY KISSED JAMES!" Well I guess that didn't last long.

The other girls got off their beds and looked at me "YOU DID?"

I smiled "I did. But how did you know?"

"Sirius told me!" Sirius told her?

"Wait why were you-"

"He's kind of my boyfriend now." She looks so happy.

"AUTUMNNN IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" I say.

"Yeah. Yeah. Enough about me! What about you and James?" They want more details. I guess I can't hide it from them forever.

"Yes. I kissed him. But it was on the cheek. You know I like him but we are just friends at the moment."

"Lily, don't get me wrong, I love you to death, but you need to speed things up." Claris is right. But how?

"I agree, but don't go too quickly." Florence is right too!

"Okay, you guys are confusing me even more than I was!" I laugh "But seriously, I just need to sleep on it."

"Okay. But this conversation is not over." Claris smiles.

I'm very sorry this took a long time to write! Idk why... probs because I was watching Mrs Browns Boys at the same time. But hey I still got it done!

My fan fiction is getting lots of reads considering I just joined a couple of days ago! Thanks!

It's a long chapter this time! I just wanted to fit more in because my other ones were kind of short :/
