My Life Before You

Chapter 20

3rd Person POV

Bucky walked out from the elevator. He had  y/n in his arms bridal style. She had fallen asleep during their hug. The events of everything took so much out of her.

Nat, Steve, Sam, and Wanda all ran up to him.

"Is she okay?", Wanda asked. Bucky nodded his head.

"So she wasn't the cause of the alarm then?", Steve asked. Bucky shook his head.

Nat slapped Steve's arm. "I told you". Steve started to frown as he rubbed his arm.

"Here i'll take her to her room", Nat said as she walked up to Bucky to grab y/n.

Bucky pressed y/n to his body, refusing Nat from being able to grab her. Everyone looked at him with a confused look.

"I'll take her", he said quietly as to not wake up y/n. "Where is her room?"

"Uh, next to Wanda's", Nat spoke with a bit of disbelief.

Bucky walked forward and the Avengers quickly moved out of his way. They all watched as Bucky walked into y/n's room.

"What was that all about?", Sam asked.

"I think something happened between them", Natasha said.

Steve smiled at his friend. "Looks like Buck found someone to protect"

Nat looked up at Steve. "What?"

"As badass and isolated Bucky makes himself to be he needs someone in his life to protect. I was the one who he protected our whole lives, but I got the serum and I no longer needed his protection. I think...", Steve stopped and stared at y/n's closed door. "...I think y/n will be good for Bucky and vice versa"

"Really? Already expecting them to get together?", Sam laughed.

"They could get together or just be friends. Either way they're gonna become really important in each other's lives". Steve started walking towards his room.

"How do you know?", Nat asked causing Steve to stop and turn around. "I'm Captain America. I know everything", he said jokingly.

Nat and Wanda rolled their eyes while Sam just laughed.

"and...he's my best friend. So, trust me, I know", Steve turned back around and went into his room. The other three just stood there in silence.

"Soooo...", Sam says. "$20 that they end up together" Wanda rolls her eyes. "$50 that they don't"

Sam smirks. Both Sam and Wanda turn to Nat. Natasha looks at them with an unamused look. "$100 that they do"

"Woah confident are we?", Sam laughed.

"Okay, i'll pay $100 to both of you if they end up together. If they don't you both have to pay me $100, got it?", Wanda said.

Natasha walked towards her room with a smirk. "You can pay me on their wedding day"

"Yeah, me too", Sam smiled as he walked to his room.

Bucky's POV

After closing y/n's door I gently laid her down. I sat at the edge of the bed and watched as she shifted a bit. Her face was covered in dry tears and her hair was a mess. She really is the most beautiful woman i've ever seen.

I remove a few strands of hair from her face. Letting out a soft sigh I start to get up from her bed. I'm stopped when I feel something grab me. Turning around I see y/n holding onto the bottom of my shirt. She's still asleep. I gently remove her hand and lay it down on the bed. Quietly I leave her room.
