Chapter 19

It took me way longer to get to the dining room then it needed to. All the employees kept trying to talk to me. Telling me I did a good job on the last mission and all other sorts of stuff. It's frustrating, but being part of the Avengers you have to keep up a positive image to the public.

Finally I made it to the top floor. Walking in I see Steve and Nat sitting at the table. I take the seat left to Steve. Nat was sitting across from him.

"Hey Bucky", Nat said.

I nodded my head in a "what's up" way.

"Where's your friend?", I asked.

"Oh, she's in the bathroom. She'll be out in a sec, but there is something I need to tell you before you meet her".

"What is it?", Steve said.

"Well, you see she's a really great person, but when it comes to men she can be a bit...ruthless", Nat explained.

Steve eyebrows furrowed. "Only to men? Why?".

"Her ex wasn't a very good guy. He caused her a lot of trauma so she's sort of disowned all men. So if she's a bit bitter to you guys don't take it personally, okay?", Natasha smiled.

Steve and I looked at each other with confusion before nodding our heads.

Just as Nat was about to say something we could hear the bathroom door open. "She's coming", Nat said.

Not really caring to meet her I looked down and started eating my food. I could hear the chair scrap against the ground as she pulled it out and seat next to Nat, which was right across from me.

Nat introduced us. "Guys this is y/n. Y/n this is Steve and Bucky".

"Hi..."

That voice sounds really familiar. Lifting my head up I look across from me and it's her, the girl from the bar.

"You", she said pointing at me.

"You...?", I said surprised.

"Have you two met?", Nat asked with a confused look.

Y/n leaned back in her chair with a huff. "He's the guy that I told you about. The one that wouldn't stop staring at me"

"Don't take it personal. He does that with everyone"

Everyone turned their heads and saw Sam standing at the end of the table.

"When did you get here", I asked annoyed.

"Just a couple seconds ago", Sam said while he pulled out a chair next to me and sat down.

"So this is y/n?", he asked.

I nodded my head.

"Nice to meet you", Sam reached his hand out to y/n.

Y/n looked down at it with disgust. "Ditto", she said.

"Y/n, don't be rude", Nat said sternly.

She sighed. "You know what? I think i'm pretty full"

Nat sighed tiredly. "You haven't even eaten anything yet"

Ignoring her y/n continued. "May I be excused? I want to see what Wanda's up to"

"I guess", Nat said defeatedly.

Getting up from her chair she bowed. "Gentlemen...", she says before she stands back up and leaves.

"She's not much of a people person...", Sam chuckled nervously.

Steve smiled. "Reminds me of someone", he said looking at me.

I looked at him with a frown. "For your information I hate everyone, she only hates men. There's a difference".
