My Life Before You

Chapter 6

Bucky's POV

I set y/n down on the old mattress. Once she was safe I look outside to see if anyone followed us. I knew the people that took me were going to find us soon, but with y/n still unconscious I won't be able to get far dragging her around.

I think back to when she went unconscious.

What was that bright light shining from her and why did it cause her to pass out, I wondered.

I looked out the window for about 10 minutes until I heard y/n shifting around.

Crouching down next to her I push some loose strands of hair from her face.

"Y/n? Are you okay", I asked softly.

Her eyes fluttered before they fully opened. Next thing I knew she jumped on me making me fall back.

"Bucky! Oh, I missed you so much", if she was any stronger she would've crushed my ribs with how tight she was hugging me.

"Hey, be careful. You just woke up", I wrapped my metal arm around her waist and used the other to sit us up.

Letting me go she grabs my face and kisses me. Getting lost in the moment I set my hands on each side of her waist and pull her body so it's pressing against mine. She softly jerks as my left arm slides under her shirt.

"You arm is cold", she whispers, our lips still touching.

"Sorry...", I smile back into the kiss.

God, I forgot how good she felt in my arms. I never wanted to let her go again.

Suddenly we could hear stomping foot steps. Y/n pulls herself from the kiss. I groan as she gets up from my lap and looks out the window.

"Bucky, those guys are coming up", y/n says with worry laced in her voice.

"Yeah, I expected that", I say with a monotone voice, still annoyed that those idiots interrupted us.

"Well, what's the plan?", y/n looks at me.

I stand up to look out the window. "Hm, we got about 5 minutes until-"

"10 minutes"

I look at y/n with a confused expression. "Huh?"

She points out the window. "Yes, they'll reach the building in 5 minutes, but it looks like we're on the 6th floor and considering there's no elevator here it'll take them about 5 minutes to run up the stairs since so many will be coming up at once. Maybe longer with all the gear they'll be carrying up it could slow them down so 12 minutes tops"

"I...never even thought about that", I spoke.

"Mmm, good thing you have me then", y/n caresses my chin as she walks by.

I smile. This woman is amazing, I thought to myself.

"Let's just wait here for back up then", I said.

"Uh, about that...we don't really...have any",
y/n dragged out.

I stare at her. "What the hell do you mean we don't have any?"

"Well, I sent Sam the coordinates, but then I lost my phone somewhere around here and so I don't really know if he's coming", y/n explained.

"So you came here not knowing if you had any back up?! You know how dangerous that is y/n?! What if you got caught?! Then Sam would've had to worry about both of us!", I shouted.

"But I didn't get caught! Besides all we have to do is get past these guys and we're free"

I hear the footsteps get closer. They're probably on the floor right below us.
