3rd Person POV

Bucky scrolled through his gallery on his phone. It was filled with millions of pictures of y/n. After learning how to take pictures Bucky couldn't stop taking them of y/n. She just always looked so good and he wanted to savior those moments. Pictures were the only way he thought would work. When he was off on missions he would look through them. It made him miss her so much more, but he was just happy to see her face.

Now when looking at them all they do is bring him pain. His eyes would be soaked within five minutes. He hated it. Y/n is the love of his life. She should be making him feel like he's on cloud nine, but now that she's gone it's the complete opposite.

Or so he thought she was gone. There's a chance that y/n is here in the compound, alive. He squeezed his phone at the thought. He then threw it across the room and it slammed into the wall breaking into a million pieces. He gripped his hair out of frustration. The tears ran down his cheeks like a waterfall; never seeming to end. He stared at the ground trying to process everything.

What if that is y/n? What the hell is he supposed to do? For 10 hours he's been stuck in his room. Not because he's forced to, but because he wants to. He wants to go down there and see that woman. He's tried to so many times, but he can't even reach the doorknob.

Suddenly someone burst into his room. Bucky quickly looks up. He blinks the tears from his eyes. He doesn't wipe them away. His face fells so raw from doing it for so many hours.

"Bucky?", Sam said softly. Bucky stared at him with no emotion. His whole face was red and hair disheveled. He looked just like he did 5 years ago when y/n had first died. Sam cringed at the thought.

"I've called you multiple times. Why aren't you answering your phone?"

Bucky said nothing. He turned his head towards the pieces of his phone lying on the ground. Sam followed his eyes looking at the mess he made. "Why'd you do that, Buck?"

Again, he said nothing. He just slowly turned his head back to Sam. If it weren't for the streams of tears on his face you would've never known Bucky was so depressed. His face is completely neutral as if he didn't just see the love of his life (who is supposedly dead) running through the streets of New York.

Sam walked over to the edge of Bucky's bed and sat down next to him. "That woman...", he paused for a moment then continued. "We've been testing her for hours and checking for any technology that made her look like y/n..."

Bucky shifted a bit after hearing her name. "...everything came back negative so, I decided to do a DNA test and it came back 100% positive to...y/n's. I don't know how, but that woman down there is y/n"

Bucky continued to stare at the wall. It was as if he was a robot. He didn't react to what Sam said at all. It angered Sam with how he was acting. He stood up abruptly. "Didn't you just hear what I said?! Y/n is alive!"

With a bored look he turned to Sam. "No", is all he said.

"God damn it, Bucky! 5 fucking years i've dealt with this shit! I lost y/n too okay! I had no one to help me get through this! But did I go and ruin my life? No! I continued being Captain America! I went on with my life! I didn't become some fucking machine who has zero emotion to anything!"

Bucky was next to stand up. "How do you want me ot react?! The love of my life is alive when I thought she was dead! This isn't some normal shit, Sam! I have no fucking idea how to react to this! Yes, i'm angry and i'm sad and tired, but I don't know what to do!"

Sam walked up inches from Bucky. "You deal with it! You come to your friends and ask for help! Not just shut us out for years to come!"

"Fuck off, Sam", Bucky turned and went to walk away. Sam grabbed him by his shoulder and pulled him back around. Pulling his arm back Sam punched Bucky in the jaw causing Bucky to stumble back.

He quickly got his balance back. Staring at Sam he massaged his jaw. "What the hell are you doing?!"

"Knocking some god damn sense into that thick ass skull of yours! Now go down to that cell and talk to her! She'll be awake soon", Sam ordered.

Bucky walked over. "You'll have to drag me down there", he spat. Sam stood tall. "You don't think I won't?", he crossed his arms. Bucky sighed knowing Sam probably would. "Now get down there", Sam said in a hard tone.

"Will you come with me?", Bucky asked sadly. Sam laid his hand on his shoulder. "Of course, man". Bucky slightly nodded his head.

Sam and Bucky tend to fight, but it always ended instantly. It was and odd things for others to witness. To them it was a normal thing. It's how they liked it.

Bucky reached for the doorknob, but stopped just as he was about touch it. His throat suddenly felt dry and he couldn't breathe. Sam grabbed his wrist and pushed it away. Grabbing the doorknob himself Sam swung the door open. "I'll help you the entire way down", he gave a reassuring smile. Though he couldn't return the smile Sam knew Bucky was thankful.

Hesitantly, Bucky walked through the door to the elevator. The whole way down was torture. The compound is built of many floors. Most of them being built underground. Y/n was being kept at the very bottom floor. The ride down was very quiet, but it was a comfortable silence.

Sam was able to speak his true feelings to Buck and a certain weight was lifted off his shoulders. As for Buck he was scared out of his mind, but knowing Sam was with him he was starting to be okay.

The elevator dinged indicating they've made it to their destination. The doors slowly slid open. Sam had to gently push Bucky out.

Bucky quietly followed behind Sam. Many scientists in lab coats walked by greeting Sam, but completely ignored Bucky. He didn't mind though. Sam was always the one to get the attention and be praised by the public. It never bothered him because the only praise or attention Bucky cared for was y/n's.

Every time he would come back from a mission she would gush over Bucky and how he fought all the bad guys. He would always tell her stories of his missions and she loved it.

Bucky was pulled from his thoughts when he walked into Sam's back. "Sorry", he said lowly as he rubbed his nose. "Might wanna pay attention, Buck", Sam teased.

Opening a metal door Sam and Bucky went in and the door was behind them right as they entered. A woman in a black suit walked straight or us. "Mr. Wilson, Barnes", she nodded to us. "How's the patient?", Sam asked immediately. The woman turned and walked towards a counter that had tons of laptops and other technology things.

"Her heart rate is going up. She's just about to wake if you'd like to speak with her", the woman said as she signed a piece of paper and handed it to one of the scientists.

Sam turned to Bucky. "You ready?"

Bucky sighed. "No...".

"I don't think you'll ever be, but if you want some answers you need to talk to her face to face". Bucky nodded his head.

The woman walked a bit forward. "Through this door Mr. Barnes", she pointed towards another metal door that was opposite of the other. A scientist stood next to it with his hand already in the knob. Probably waiting to open it for Buck.

Bucky slowly walked over to it and the door swung open. A slight breeze flew in which was a bit odd considering they were inside, but he ignored it. Slowly he descended the stairs. He could see a giant cell that looked like it was made of glass. Inside was a woman lying unconscious.

In front of the cell was a single chair. Bucky sat down and waited. After about 5 minutes the woman shifted. She sat up and checked her surroundings. Her eyes then landed on his

They widened at the sight of him. "Bucky...?"
