Chapter 4

y/n's POV

Once my shift is finally over I lock up the shop and head home.

As i'm walking home my phone buzzes in my pocket indicating that I got a text message.

Quickly I grab my phone hoping it's Bucky. It wasn't...

My face lights back up seeing that it's a text from Wanda (Maximoff). Wanda has been a close friend of mine.

She was the one to give me a home with the Avengers. Well it was her and Natasha. Without them I would've been homeless and have never met Bucky.

Once Natasha...died we were both in a pretty bad place. Bucky and I began dating a little bit after Natasha's death. He helped me
through it and so I was able to help Wanda. I think of her as family as she does with me and i'd do anything for her.

Wanda: "hey, mind heading over to the compound?

y/n: "sure. just finished my shift so i'll be there in 10 minutes"

Wanda: "okay, see you then :)

I put my phone back in my pocket and head to the compound. I wonder what she wants. She usually just comes to visit me at my place, I thought.

~At the Avenger's Compound~

Walking in I see the head of security.

"Hi, Happy", I give him a big smile.

"Oh, hi, y/n. Wanda told me you were coming. You can go on in. Security already knows you have access everywhere", Happy says quickly. He must be busy.

"Okay, thank you, Happy". Hearing a "you're welcome" I walk through the doors and take the elevator to the top floor.

Reaching my destination I open the door and see Wanda sitting on a couch in the living room.

"Hi Wanda", I say as I close the door behind me.

Noticing me Wanda quickly gets up to greet me. "Hi y/n", she pulls me in for a hug.

"What'd you call me here for? We always hangout at my place". We both walk to the couch and sit down.

"I heard that Bucky's mission has been extended and knowing you, you'd go from work and right back home being all depressed that Bucky isn't here"

Wanda literally reads me like a book.

"Thank you, Wanda. I was feeling pretty lonely", I gave her a soft smile.

"Since i've been so busy with work we haven't been able to talk in awhile so anything new with you", she asked.

Which is true. Wanda is also an Avenger and with how powerful she is they use her for a lot of missions so she's gone for months at a time. It really sucks when all your favorite people are superheroes, but knowing the good that they do I bare with it.

"Actually I have some really exciting news to tell you...", I fiddle with my fingers trying to calm my excitement.

"ouuu, wait let me make some tea first"

With a flick of her wrist the ingredients to make tea start floating around inserting themselves into the kettle. After the tea is ready two tea cups float out of the pantry and the tea is poured in them. Very carefully using her power she brings the tea to us.
