Chapter 17: Lestat and Jesse

Jesse's POV:
I held Danny in my arms as he had fallen asleep, while I stayed close to Lestat. I moved closer to him when I noticed a male take steps towards me, with a smirk on his face. "Why are you coming near me?" I asked. "Well that's because you look good; and I want you." he said. This made me back up to the point my back, was touching Lestat's arm. "I'm already in a relationship, so back off." I said. "And that must be your son." he said as he touched Danny's arm, making me furious. I smacked his hand away, as I looked at him angrily. "Don't you ever touch my friends child!" I shouted which seemed to catch both Marius's; and Lestat's attention. "Is there a problem? Do you need something?" Marius asked. I smiled at him feeling a protective aura come off him. As he asked this the man touched my arm, causing Lestat to grab his hand; and bend it backwards. "Ow! That hurts!" he yelled. "Don't you ever touch her or the child in her arms, or I will rip your throat out. Do I make myself clear." Lestat asked frightening the man, causing him to nod his head. As Lestat was dealing with him, I had noticed Danny wake up, so I quickly calmed him.

Once calm Danny had fell back asleep in my arms. I smiled down at him then I had looked back up at the male, Marius; and Lestat. "Now get going; and don't ever touch either one of my children." Marius said. Myself and Lestat took pride in Marius seeing us as his children. The man quickly fled; and stayed away from us. Lestat then turned to me; and looked at Danny, then at me. "Is he alright? That guy didn't hurt him?" Lestat asked. "No he didn't hurt him, Danny's fine. But we will have to let Ashe; and Sarah know about it." I said. "We will." Lestat said. Soon Ashe came out to us, letting us know the birth went well; and Sarah was currently sleeping. So we followed him into the room since we were allowed to. I then explained to him what had happened while Sarah was giving birth. He nodded his head; and thanked us for protecting Danny. "So is it a girl or boy?" Lestat asked. "Girl." Ashe said.

I smiled as I was happy for them both. I noticed that Sarah was currently asleep. "The birth must have wore her out." I said to which Ashe nodded his head. "But she worked through it." Ashe said as he looked at Sarah. I was smiling cause I knew she could do it. I then handed Danny to Ashe, so that he could hold him. Ashe smiled as he took Danny in his arms; and noticed he was asleep. "Well we're gonna head home. Congrats on the baby." I said to which Ashe nodded at me. Lestat, myself; and Marius left. As we walked home I stayed close to Lestat, while holding his hand. "Are you alright Lestat?" I asked noticing the cold stare he had on his face. He didn't respond to me; and kept walking. I decided to make both of us still; and I turned his attention towards me. "What love?" Lestat asked. "Tell me what's wrong." I said. Lestat slid his arms around my waist, as he stayed quiet for awhile. "If it's about earlier it's okay. I'm very grateful for you protecting me." I said. "I'm worried about you love?" Lestat said. I wrapped my arms around his neck; and pressed my lips against his.

For awhile we stood there in each other's arms. Lestat continued to kiss me as his hold on my waist got tighter. We pulled away and looked into each other's eyes. "There's something I want to ask you love." Lestat said as he pulled himself out of my arms; and let go of me. "What is it dear?" I asked noticing him get down on one knee. I wondered what he was doing on only one knee. "Will you marry me; and live the rest of our eternal lives with me?" Lestat asked. I gasped nodding my head as I looked at him. I felt him put the ring on, as he stood up on both feet; and kissed me. "I love you." Lestat said after we pulled away from the kiss. "I love you too." I said. Soon Lestat went out for a hunt; and I immediately called Sarah. "Hello Jesse." Sarah said. "Hello Sarah. I have something to tell you." I said. "What is it?" Sarah asked. "Lestat just proposed to me." I said with happiness in my voice. "That's great." Sarah said. After we got done talking Lestat had returned home.
