Ash watched Amber from where he was sitting. Keith had set them up on one-on-one spars and Amber was fighting against George. He was trying to remain close enough to be able to reach her with his spear, but not close enough for her to swing at him. She had figured out that she could summon arrows separately and had tried to stab (not actually) him with them when he got close.
His midrange weapon seemed to overpower the capabilities of her far-ranging weapon.
Rebecca didnt seem to care much for watching the fight, but she was watching Ash. She hadn't interfered the other day, but she heard the conversation and felt the tension that had arisen in the group. It seemed to her that half of the group was concerned about Ashs outburts, and the other half about Amber and Keith's secret discussions.
The team was drifting apart, but Rebecca hoped Ash and Amber would at least try to ease some of the tension at some point.
Perhaps that was wishful thinking.
Ash smirked a bit when Amber got knocked back out of the set sparring area. Keith declared George the winner and pulled both of them aside to talk about their strategies.
Rebecca heard Keith tell Amber that she needed to seriously work on her defense and to try to think things through before acting. George on the other hand, relied mainly on his speed and the reach of his spear. He needed to work to be more flexible for different situations.
"Guys, we should probably get going." Elizabeth pointed out. The group had taken to sailing at night, and resting on the weekends.
Once they had packed up and boarded, everyone settled down. By that point, everyone seemed to have a spot on the boat that they preferred to sit. Iris and Brianna liked to sit together up by the wheel, on the highest point of the ship. Ash and Nolan usually hogged the bow, Elizabeth liked to steer, and George would mingle with her or Clementine. Keith usually moved between people, but came back to talking with Carson fairly often. Alex, Rebecca, and Avery were usually sitting together at the stern.
But that day, Rebecca decided to sit with Elizabeth, and everyone else, who were tired from the new training exercises Keith had started them on, actually wanted to sleep.
The group liked to have at least two people awake when sailing so that if one got tired the other could take over. Rebecca sat against the front of the wheel watching the moon rise.
"Can I ask you something?" Elizabeth spoke quietly, not wanting to wake the others.
"Sure, what's up?" Rebecca turned to look at the wendigo whose green eyes seemed to glow a bit in the dark.
"You've been a part of the team from pretty early on, right?"
"Not really. Amber, Brianna, Iris, Ash, and Nolan were already together when I joined."
"Nolan said that the four of them, not including Amber, all lived around the same area though."
"Well yeah, I guess."
"Can you tell me a little more about everyone? They all seem a little scared of me."
Both of them knew exactly why, but Rebecca also understood that Elizabeth was only doing what she thought was right in the forest.
"Well, what do you want to know?"
"I dont know. All I really know are their names. I dont know much about them other than that."
"Well, Iris cant see glass, but she's also the oldest out of all of us, except for Keith I think."
"She cant see glass?"
