"Fair warning, Sakura is a bit-" Vel weighed her hands back and forth, trying to figure out the right word "-odd."
"She's not odd, she's eccentric." Olive crossed her arms defensively.
We were on our way to meet the Gemini, since the Remembrance ceremony had been the day before. We had also seen the main area of the base, which was even more spacious than Lazarus had been. Mark made a joke about the only resource they had enough of was space, which, as we'd seen so far, was probably true.
"We're here." Vel ignored Olives comment as the group came to a large double door. When we went inside, the first thing we noticed, was that the lights were out.
"I don't think she's here." Alex offered.
"She is, she prefers the dark." Olive entered the room first, Vel following close behind.
Once we had all filed in, the doors slammed behind us.
"Uhhh-" I heard Nolan speak from my right. "Should we be concerned about that?"
"Give her a second, she's observing you." I believed that one was Olive.
We remained silent for a few minutes, and heard nothing. But I could feel a new presence around us, somewhere.
"Something touched me!" Avery shouted.
"Get off me!" Ash growled, probably at the other human.
"I don't like this." Rebecca also spoke.
"Don't worry." Elizabeth shifted, and i could hear her feet tapping against the floor. "She's not that threatening, just nocturnal."
"I'm threatening enough!" I heard a soft, female voice protest. I felt something shift to directly in front of me before the voice continued. "Just because I'm small, doesn't mean I cant beat your ass."
"Language!" Olive warned.
I heard a huff before the presence came closer to me. I could then barely hear her mumble something to herself.
"Elf with red hair, that one is Amber, and the satyr is Carson..." she stopped before speaking louder, asking "who's the black haired human?"
"Turn on the light, 'Ra." Olive, from a bit in front of me, told her.
I heard a tapping moving away from me, then several sounds that seemed to move upward.
The lights came on with a click, making me flinch and squint, hoping my eyes would adjust quickly. Once they did, I looked around for the girl, but didn't see her.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Carson looking up, and pointing that same direction.
I looked to where he was pointing to see a girl hanging upside down from a pole connected to the ceiling. She was, indeed, small. She had long hair that was a dark red color and the front part of her hair was a lighter red.
She seemed to be a fox fey.
Her tail was smooth and the same color as her hair, with the lighter red on the tip. She was pale and had the roman numeral 2 mark on her left cheek. Her eyes were a light pink and she had paws instead of feet that gradiated from her skin color to a dark brown. The same thing was true of her fingers. She also had large, fluffy ears that matched her tail with white tufts on the inside.
The paws explained why I hadn't heard her move around us much.
She remained upside down, staring at me with suspicion. "Who's the black haired human?" She asked again.
I looked around at the group. "There is none." I pointed my thumb at Ash. "He's the closest we have to that."
"He's right behind you." She insisted. "He has long black hair and green eyes." She swung her legs around and dropped straight down to the ground, landing with barely a sound and running up to me.
