It has been seven days since my village was attacked and the survivors had to look for new homes. I decided to find a place towards the sea, and most of the villages there had access to my supplies and I discovered on my travels there was an abundance of bamboo.

I had not had a shower since the attack and I knew I stank; I wanted to find a pond or a lake anything so I could get clean. I was able to find small puddles for a drink and for cleaning meat and cooking but nothing to soak in. Coming to a dense part of the forest I heard a loud screech, looking up I saw four Phoenix, I was stunned I had heard of phoenix by the sea but had never seen them.

"Who are you? What is your business here?" a man asked.

He came around the and he was stunning, tall easily six foot seven. Tanned skin, long plaited hair with phoenix feathers woven in, he is wearing an open tunic showing of his clan markings on his chest, which is a golden eye with six red feathers and a purple crown above the eye, he is wearing a long skirt to past his knees and he is bare foot.

Shaking myself from my thoughts I spoke, "I apologise I did not mean to trespass on your clan. My village was attacked and the survivors have scattered, I decided to head towards the sea to make a home for myself or to find a village"

"What village are you from?" he asked

"Human mainly but there were many couples, from bears to peacocks" I replied

"What is your name and what can you contribute to the tribe?" he asked

"My name is Y/N, although many call me Gage. I am a good hunter, scout and tracker though many in my village know me for making soaps" I answered.

"SOAPS!" everyone gasped, even the phoenix guards transformed and gasped at my answer.

"Yes I make soaps" I answered a bit shocked

"My name is Darren chief of the tribe. I offer you a place in our tribe" the tall man I now know as Darren smiled.

"Thank you" I shook his hand as he escorted me through the village.

"We can have a tour tomorrow once you have settled in, we have plenty of empty lodgings available and natural hot springs in the village" Darren explained.

I could help but gasp at the sound of hot springs, I could only imagine how wonderful the hot steamy water would feel all over my body.

"Hot springs it is then" Darren laughed

"Thank you, I apologise for startling you all and for my appearance" I blushed

He just chuckled and led me inside a cave that had glowing pearls along the walls, further in I felt the humid air fill my senses. Within minutes I was looking at dozens of hot springs, some small ones, communal ones, and some hidden behind dividers. We walked to a covered area to a medium-sized hot spring, I put my bag to the side looking up I was stunned to see Darren undressed.

"Should I leave you alone?" I asked looking to the side

"We can share, I was going to bathe before I ate my evening meal. Please join me" he smiled getting into the water.

I took off my clothes grabbed my spare clothes ready for after my bath, grabbing my soap I got into the water. The water was amazing I slumped into the water up to my shoulders, I couldn't help the moan that escaped my lips. Grabbing my soap I started to clean myself, with all the mud and moss on my skin I felt like a tree.
