My Muse
Female human/ Male God Changeling
I was looking for a quiet place to practice my Fiddle, few in my village liked the Fiddle but I was told they didn't mind it when I played. With my small basket of food, candles, and blanket, I set out to find the best play. From my village I had walked for 2 hours and was becoming tired, I looked up and found ruins of an old building.
On closer examination, it looked like a meeting hall, a huge table in the centre of the room, once-grand windows and doors, the remains of a chandelier were on the floor and the floor had a mosaic pattern to it. I could tell it was once majestic I could feel how it would have felt there; it was the ideal place to practice. Placing my basket on the table I stood over the remaining roof at the back of the building.
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and started to play. It was a slow start, but after a few minutes, I felt my confidence grow and my music became more passionate. I became lost in the music my one passion and love in life was music, as I listened to the music it seemed to resonate around me. I finished my song and was greeted by loud applause. Opening my eyes, I saw the room was now fixed and filled with the gods.
"My Lords and Ladies I apologise I didn't know this was your home" I rushed out bowing my head.
"You may look at us, we take no offense. You play wonderfully" I heard a deep and rich voice behind me say.
"You can look up," a woman said.
Looking up I looked around, seeing all the gods were sitting on their chairs apart from one couple. Lady Zara and Lord Jarnu were sat together; I knew that they were the married gods. The rest of the gods I knew as well but I didn't see one of them, Bataru God of Inspiration and Creativity.
I saw a head appear on my left "Looking for me?" he asked before sitting on the stool in front of the table.
He is a changeling but his appearance today is that of a lizardfolk, gorgeous green scales with a lovely shine, cream coloured belly scales, medium snout, bright blue eyes, polished nails on his hands and feet, and a long thick tail and is wearing a red open chest robe and no shoes.
"I am so sorry for intruding in your home my lords and ladies" I blushed.
"This isn't our home, this is our meeting place. You have helped calm down a heated debate we were having. What is your name?" Bataru asked.
"Lisanna, my lord," I said
"Welcome Lisanna, will you play again for us?" Zara asked
I looked around the room, seeing everyone eager to hear me play. Bataru looked most eager, bowing my head I began to play a song closest to my heart 'Sealed by a rose'. I began to play as I did before pouring my soul into the music, before I knew it the song had finished I opened my eyes and I was back at the ruins.
'I must have imagined it' I thought to myself and started to play some other songs. After my last song, I decided to pack my fiddle away and have something to eat before I walked home, having my sandwich I noticed how late it was getting. Panicking I packed my belongings and left the ruins, before I left completely I bowed as a sign of respect.
I quickly rushed down the hill towards my village, the roads are dangerous at night with predators and bandits. I was halfway down the hill when I realised my fiddle was still at the ruins, I had placed it under the table so it might still be there in the morning.
Reluctantly I continued home at the edge of the village I heard voices, keeping a fast pace I made it back home. Unlocking my door I glanced around like I always did and walked inside, closing and bolting the door the room suddenly became alight.
