Sometimes I'd listen outside her door and I'd hear how my mother cried for him. I prayed for her even more than me, I prayed for her even more than me.
LISAKHANYA'S POV
I stagger backwards as he moves forward. Blinking the tears away as the memories come flooding like a chain. Unbelievable. I was never prepared for this day. My back hit the wall as he continuously moves forward. He doesn't understand that it's his cologne is getting to me and just the sight of him triggers emotions I thought I had buried.
"Dad, what's going on?" Elaine asks saving me from embarrassment. He stops on his tracks.
"You know each other?" Sihle asks with her eyebrows raised in question.
I take a quick glance at her and It's now I see the resemblance. Her eyes, the nose...No wonder people said we look alike.
"Lisakhanya...."He says.
Sounds exactly like the voice I heard in my flashbacks.
"I need to leave...." I say to Sihle.
"But.."
"You don't have to leave." He says remorsefully.
I take out my phone from my pocket and call uncle T and he answers on the first ring like he's been waiting for my call.
"Nana are you okay?"
"Please come fetch me."
"Okay I'm on my way." He says and I hang up.
"Will someone explain to me what the hell is going on here?" Elaine exclaims.
"It's not my place to say anything. Your dad will explain..if not lie." I say grabbing my belongings.
I walk towards the door applauding myself for not crying. Why am I not surprised? I haven't cried in forever. I feel a hand grabbing my wrist and I tilt my head to meet Sihle staring at me in rage.
"Are you sleeping with my dad?" She says through gritted teeth.
I chuckle. "The only person sleeping around is your sister right there. " I say causing everyone to gasp.
"What?!" Elaine exclaims.
"Mr Agbani? Does that name ring a bell?"
Silence. I thought as much. I remove my hand from Sihle's grip and exit the house banging it on my way out. Just in time uncle T is parked next to this hot AMG and I make my way inside the car and throw my head into my hands.
"Molato ke eng?" He asks.
"Can I please explain at home."
"Morena mohau." He sighs and starts the car.
20 minutes later.....
We get home and I immediately head to my mom's room. I need answers. Some things just don't make sense. I open her door and there she is, reading some novel called 'Naledi his love'.
